Arches...where every rock looks like a dick. Very cool photo. I chose to go out on the opposite end of the day.

I'm assuming because that is a long exposure shot, the light of the headlight will also appear much brighter than it really is.

    Fan fekkin tastic photos, boys.

I went to Moab once during college. I was taking an elective on environmental issues and we were talking about the parks out there and, in a gap in the conversation, on a whim, one of the 8 students in the class blurts out "... We should go check it out!"

The whole class stops, we look at each other, we look at the professor and the prof was like "..... Fukkit! Lets go!" And we did. Such a great trip. I wish we had more than just 5 days to explore out there, but it was absolutely amazing. A trip I'll never forget. Thanks, Prof!!!

My wife has an Explorer ST and Ford offers a driving school for Ford Performance vehicles (I went in 2017 for the Raptor)

    https://www.stsuvexperience.com/inde...nce-park-city/

We flew out Friday, then drove 4 hours to Moab
    Hiked arches all day Saturday
Sunday we caught sunrise at arches, took 128 along the Colorado River through the canyons, offroaded our rental Jeep Cherokee on Onion Creek trail, then drove to park city and had a dinner reception with Ford and then watched the Pats game
Monday was the Ford experience where we drove the mountains, off roaded, did an evasive driving course, shot $5k .22 rifles they use in Olympic Biathalon (50M, prone, peep sight, softball size target then an Oreo cookie sized target, my wife was best in the group going 9/10), then did autocross (I was fastest by a second but hit 1 cone).

Sitting at salt lake city airport now tired as hell.

I have nothing to add about MOAB, but I do have a nice sunrise at Point Udall in St. Croix that I took during a vacation a couple years ago.

Utah was amazing in every region. Spent 4 days last month there and could see anything from the greenery in Park City to the desserts in Zion.

I highly recommend going Rt 24 to 12 to 89 to rt 9 from Moab to Zion. Covers some amazing view points and sweet twisties on the way.

Unfortunately not yet. I headed south to 46 on my way to US 550 in CO and missed 128 but it’s on the list.

Looks to be a lot better than the 128 I’m used to here in the city

Re: Caught sunrise in Arches National Park in Moab

I really enjoyed Moab. The one bummer that was completely our fault was that it is not dog friendly at all during the summer. Just too hot for the feet. Thankfully we got a dog friendly hotel instead of staying in the van so we could still go out and do stuff.
Oh, and everything closes super early which sucked when it was light out until 9pm+

We didn't do any 4x4ing, but it looked fun. We rode mountain bikes instead on some of the same trails. Slick Rock was a relatively boring mountain bike trail, but very cool and 4x4able as well.

And its just a headlamp, with long exposure. The reason for the stupid pose is because I had to move it around to light up everything. If I didn't move it around it would be more like a beam, which is cool, just not the look I was going for. Utah was also massively on fire when we went.

Very cool pic. Mine were from my cell. Haven't looked at the ones from the Canon T6 yet, got a new wide angle lens, curious how they came out

Yup. I would 100% love a vacation/getaway just like that. Kids grow up fast right?

Oh yeah, they are 6 and 9 now. We missed them pretty bad, and the 9 year old got a littler teary eyed over the phone one night and that was pretty tough. They will start joining us on these adventures

My daughter goes to Colorado College, which has the “Block Plan” - students take one course, three hours per day, for 35 days. Then they get a 4-5 day break.

She’s been camping in Moab at least three times.

That's a cool effect. Wondered how you did it.
