    "The Commute From Hell" thread

15 min ride took 1 hour but I left at 2pm

My wife left at 4pm for her normal 7min drive home and is only 2/3 the way home at 6:30

But I have a funny story

I was waiting on the off ramp for about 1/2 an hour (I can see my house from the ramp ) and there are jackasses cutting in and squeezing up. So this one tool tries to get in front of me YA RIGHT! So I nearly hit the guy trying to box him out (him newer tahoe me 03 TL) and I get up next to his window and start screaming at him, yealing and swearing (I usually NEVER do that type of thing) before he even gets his window down. He gets it down and I'm still yelling even though I see his 18-20 year old daughter siting shot gun.

Then I realize....I know who this is....it was on of my bosses I took a few seconds but then we both realized who one another were and both started cracking up for at least a minute.

So I guess that will be the only time I ever get to tell a boss where to go and still have a job

Yo - fellow motorcycle people. I'm up here in So NH (Amherst, NH) - my 02' VW Passat (W8) friggin loves this stuff - AWD (just shy of 300 HP) with regular Michelin summer tires - hills, dirt roads, deep snow - doesn't matter - what a blast. I love putting this car in screwed up situations like todays storm. Bring it!

I'm totally impressed with this thing.

Its all about knowing how to drive!!! Witch apparently no one around here knows how to do

I left here just after I posted my first post. Walked 10 minutes, pushed 1/2 dozen cars, and met my wife who was a mile tops from our house. There were buses sideways, vans stuck, cars abandoned...the whole like.

Jumped in my wifes cars and got us home in 5 mins threw an alternate route. My wifes car has NO business in the snow. It's a 07 nissan versa with the stock crappy tires and a 1.5 inch drop and a manual trans.

I drove circles around all the clowns out there

and have been drinking since lunch

Well, my one mile usually takes 2 mins....took me 15 today, not counting the 5 mins it took me to get out of the parking lot (stuck in plow crud).....still short, but I could have walked home in less time. Glad I didn't though.

Usually takes me 25 minutes to get home from Burlington, took 1 1/2 hours.

I have a 2000 Passat 4 Motion with 4 snow tires, and the thing is a bear, you can hardly tell there is snow. Which is frustrating when you get behind the dim-wit with the lowered Civic with 18" tires who is going 12 MPH.

Being in construction, we drew a circle outside on the ground and when the first flake landed inside the circle, it was nothing but taillights. I was at my house in 20 minutes, it normally takes me 20 minutes
Even the ride from my house to my parents wasn't all that bad, normally 1/2 hour took me about 45 minutes

    Boston to Watertown

I left work at 1-ish and got home at 2:15

Of course I got to watertown at 1:30 and promptly dumped the 'strom on Arsenal St. when the snow got to be 2"+ and packed down. So I pushed it to a parking lot and walked home, that took the extra 45 minutes.

    "The Commute From Hell" thread

My roughly one hour drive today took three hours. My one year old son was with me, and for two of those hours he made no bones about letting me know that he was hungry and he wanted OUT of the car seat, NOW. TWOFUCKINHOURS of a screaming baby while stuck in traffic. I reset wunna the trip computers in the Murano before I left work too. Average speed was like, 17 MPH. It only got that high because I actually had a stretch of route 28 where I got to go about 40 MPH for about 10 miles. Then of course, the state stops plowing route 28 about 6 miles from my house and the local yahoos hadn't been out yet. Left Manchland a little past 4:00, got home around 7:00...

    'zat better Pete?

BTW-The Murano is a TANK in the snow...

I work at home. Home office over garage. Comute time today 17 seconds. Same as always....

But...it did take me 1hr and 20 minutes to get to Seacoast tonight....normally takes about 20 minutes. And worth every second!
