    Old Currency

Anyone know anything about old currency? My wife inherited a couple old $50 bills, and I'd like to know where to start for an appraisal.

Easy enough to look up online. Year and serial number are a good start. Depending on rarity condition starts getting tricky to grade. There are hundreds of money collector websites that help you.

Yeah, I did that already but advice is all over the place. Was hoping someone here has some firsthand experience.

my dad is a coin collector, some things that are not worth much more individually than face value, can be valuable if they complete a set.

are they silver certificates ? or just federal reserve notes

$50 unless they're the ones with Robert E. Lee instead of Ulysses S. Grant...

yes, but are they silver certificates or federal reserve notes........

a federal reserve note would be worth $50, a silver certificate might be worth more, they are no longer in circulation
