Droppin in to say that the Amazon Firestick 4k fuckin rules.
Had a Firestick gen 1 for a long time... thing was getting slow as hell & started crashing. Logged into amazon & low and behold they were running a special on Firestick 4k's for 25 bucks (reg 50). Order placed & delivered a few weeks ago and holy shit, this thing works the balls.
Can't take advantage of the 4k on my current TV, but the extra processing power, voice remote and IR transmitter for TV volume are nice.

Okay, I get it now. We're currently in a 300/300 with unlimited plan for $55/no. including all fees & taxes. We can save +/- $10/month going down to 100/100. We currently have two 4K sets, soon to add another. I'll eat the $10 or so just for piece of mind.
The services I'm pretty sure we'll be using will save us around $55/month over cable, but may even get that to $67/month savings.

Surely that $55/mo is an introductory offer. What happens when the introductory period ends?
Expect about 25Mbps per 4k device.
If you have all three running at the same time, at max resolution, you're still looking at 25Mbps of unused bandwidth.
It's your money, but I wouldn't throw $120/year away just for piece of mind when the math doesn't add up. And if you do then need more, just a phone call away to bump it back up.

Hulu live is going up from 45 to 55 bucks a month. I might poke around a bit for other options. Generally been happy with it, but sometimes it gets laggy / pausey which I assume is something with their data center / CDN, since I have an FTTH connection.

Same shit with ATT direct, just got an e-mail that my plan will increase to $60/month, which means it has DOUBLED in the 2 years since I first signed up.
I knew this is what would happen, once they got you to switch the $$$ would just go up&up&UP. At this point i'm going back to cable, both Cox (I know, shocking) and FIOS have similar plans/channel lineups to what I have with ATT.Amazingly they will both be cheaper, even with equip rental, than ATT + internet.
If the Disney+ popularity is any indication, I see a future where every network/channel will have their own direct subscription plan and will attempt to price out any company attempting to offer their programming bundled with others.
I had Hulu but killed it for the same reason, even before the cost increase. Went to YouTube TV, and I'm MUCH happier with it. The guide alone is a vast improvement.

Picked up the last new TV to take the next step. Big Shirl couldn't do without television in the bedroom, so we had to add one more before we made the move. Cutting the cord this weekend and giving it a whirl.
Going with YouTubeTV, Netflix, and may add YouTube Premium. We're going to be saving between $50-65/month depending on whether or not we add YouTube Premium.
