    Thanks to him btw!

Do you have a Firestick or similar android device that you can get the app “Downloader”?

If so you can side load the Mad Hat TV on to your device with a direct link. Works great. I’ve loaded it on to my Firestick and Nvidia Shield. Casting it is fine too, I just preferred it this way to take an extra device out of the picture.

I emailed MadHat TV customer service after I installed it on my phone and lap top. turns out they are working on web browser watchability without the app for sometime this summer and also an app for Xbox etc down the road.

Always tweaking and tuning the guide on a daily basis .

All streams leave at 1040K definition .

Maybe it's time to upgrade on your end .

I don't know about the service in question, but I know most streaming services will automatically degrade quality if the client is having performance problems.

My old man is complaining about his Xfinity service and thinks it's the router

I'm wondering if there's a decent "all in one" cable modem with router WITH home phone (voice?)
Or is it better to get a modem with phone jack and a separate wifi router?

I've always been told to go separate if possible in case 1 dies....BUT, I got an arris (no voice) router/modem combo and its been flawless for 4 years now....

You might be jumping the gun by assuming the problem is actually with the router. What's the symptoms?

    Re: Cutting the cord....

So I finally dumped Comcast cable in favor of Prime Video and Hulu. I am still stuck with Comcast for internet access, but am paying $13 month to "rent" their modem / router. Any recommendations for a replacement? I've been told to look into Orbi.

    Re: Cutting the cord....

It seems that my WiFi router Apple AirPort Extreme is getting worse with each update and somehow my range seems to be decreasing? Could it be that I have converted most of my house to a smart home with several devices connected (10+ phones and tablets, 20+ smart light bulbs, 5 computers/laptops, 2 nest thermostats, 2 smart TVs, fire stick, garage opener, door sensors, etc). Looking to finally replace it after 7 years.
Looks like Archer C4000 is one of the top rated routers. Any feedback/suggestions?

The more devices, the less airtime per device. Simple as that.

Get a mesh system, hardwired units if possible. And hardwire everything that can feasibly be hardwired.

Model is in the living room. Only thing that can be hard wired is the smart TV.
Would a tri band system make a difference (they advertise it would)

I don’t know if I’m disappointed with spectrum and their 400 mbps plan that I have never seen more than 100mbps or the Apple router that seems to not be able to handle the work load.

Shut off all devices except the device you are trying to stream with. Does it fix it? Yes? Move on below. No? It's your ISP.

Add devices one at a time.

    When does it get bad?

400Mbs plan? Why? I ran an entire campus with 750 users and 1k devices on 500Mb. 400 for a single house is just you paying more cause they say it'll be better.

    Re: Cutting the cord....

i have the Spectrum 400Mbps plan as well (FTTH), here is my 30 day report using a Google Mesh setup w/35 or so devices connected. it's been fairly consistent and stable. didn't want to, but i ditched my Apple routers a while ago due to issues + i wanted to pause devices the kids use.

i'll prob bump down to the 100Mbps plan after the pricing structure changes. they were the same price so i figured i'd track over time to see what we actually burned.. .

It’s the cheapest plan they offer... they gave me a free upgrade from 100 to 400 without changing the cost. But the speeds remain identical and inconsistent.

Which spectrum modem you have? Did you notice speed difference from Apple to Google Mesh?
