Honestly have no idea. Currently over-analyzing that decision.

Thinking of springing for one of the 4-4.5 cuft ones.

I can do anything I damn well like.
I'll go see the nice lady at the town office tomorrow and make it legit.

    Lol. Back on fridge...

I have both a 2ish and 3.5ish in sexy wood grain (that need to be cleaned out) sitting in the garage taking up space if you want.

I never registered my trailer the whole year I was racing. Track tires cost money you know.

Bigger one is (possibly) spoken for. If you are interested in the smaller one I'll get it there sometime this weekend. If it cleans up and works we can talk price (it will not be much).

Both will require some elbow grease to clean up.

Do you know the make/model? I tossed the dometic 3 way fridge from the westy since it was dead. So now I just have a door and storage compartment.

Hmm, in debating fridges, highly recommend getting one with a separate freezer door. I've never had a mini with a built in freezer that was worth a damn.

Nice job so far. Will have to come see this weekend.

Re: DIY toy hauler camper build

I've concluded that if I'm going to spend real money on a fridge it is going to be big enough to hold a carboy and/or 1-2 homebrewing kegs. This way I can cart it inside and make it pull double duty as a fermentation chamber or keggerator in the off-season.

In the meantime I've taken Jason up on his offer. He advertised his fridge as having wood grain doors. Which I think will set off the grey walls, bare aluminum hardware, and chip-board sub-floor nicely.

Not much to see at this point.

Re: DIY toy hauler camper build

Never tickled this thread after LRRS round 1. I used the trailer with pretty good success that weekend. The car towed the trailer surprisingly well. I am continually amazed at this. Gas mileage was awful, 14-15 MPG on the way there and nipping at 18 on the way home. (Way home is down hill and always better.) But that is still better than a pickup on most good days. Brakes are good. Acceleration is okay, better than I would expect. Above 50 the aero becomes a huge faster and the experience gets.. less desirable. Below 50 it is no problemo.

Bunk is not finished. (Not even started.) So I slept on the floor on a thermarest camp mat and in my sleeping bag with an extra blanket. Temps supposedly nipped at freezing. Friday night I ran a small electric heater for a few hours before bed. Stepped into the trailer, thought "Oh yeah! Nice and toasty in here!" and turned off the heater because I didn't want to listen to it all night. Turns out that was a bad move. At about 3-4AM I woke up freezing my nutsies off. Turned the heater back on but never got things comfortable again. Saturday night I dealt with the noise and left the heater running non-stop. Was much more comfortable. It seems the insulation is not as effective as I had hoped.

Electrical system worked well. Jason gave me an old fridge. I plugged it in and it ran nicely off the electrical system I'd hooked up. No lights in the trailer yet, so I used a drop light borrowed from the garage toolbox.

Overall I'm happier than a pig in poop with this setup.

    Progress this weekend.

Built in a nice workbench into the v-nose. It is very light weight and not super strong. But should be plenty for light use. Pain in the butt building this. Nothing in the trailer is square or even. Had to cut a cardboard pattern and even then the bench top is not a very good fit. It is what it is.

Rain wheel storage. This setup is blatantly stolen from Steph. Not convinced the wheels are going to stay put with the strap run that high. Folks insist running the strap across the rotor is asking for a bent rotor.

On the straps, keep it up high, but position the wheels so you have on spoke pointing straight up. When you run the strap across, loop it around the spoke once.

So outside the wheel, inside the spoke, outside the wheel again. That thought had crossed my mind. Seems the tire is going to bounce out and away from the wall though. We shall see.

Yep. I saw you leaving on Sunday with the fridge still in the bed of my pick-up...

I'm missing round 2, but may be able to get it to the track... I don't know all the details of my weekend yet.

run the same strap setup at the bottom, below the rotors. Should make you feel more secure.
