The call goes out! I'm lookin' to get about 4 or 5 peeps up here to try to help me get my dock back up to par. It's taken some beatings these last coupla winters, and it's to the point that I don't wanna even moor the boat there. I'm sure there's not gonna be a dry way to do it, but the water's only knee deep there. It'd be really helpful if somebody with some knowledge about these things (or carpentry) could make it. BBQ and beer will be the reward...
Sunday, June 9th is looking to be a good day for me. I'll be in Boston the night of the 8th, so if'n anyone wantsta meet me and follow me up, there ya go! I'd REALLY like to get it done before Stonnerstock...

I prolly gotta work next saturday and will be picking up my new bike on sundayso i won't be able to make it up.
If i remember correctly, your dock is on steel poles? If the wood dock is clamped to the poles, you should be able to adjust them up or down. If it's threw bolted, you may have to drill new holes.
You nead a floating, removable dock
And i saw just the setup you nead while i was in Maine last weekend:cool

Gimme a call tonight Rich. I'm trying to figure out how to drive the stanchions back into the lake bed and keep 'em there. I think Mark's got the right idea about drilling new holes for the clamps that hold the dock to the stanchions...

Not sure yet which day, Mike. I've gotta go to Boston for the night today (leaving here at 4:00, returning tomorrow sometime before noon). I'm still playing that one out...
Thanks tho!

I'm not sure it's deep enough where the dock is for a floater. But I am thinking of rigging up a removable dock...

I've looked into those floaters before. Those fuckers get damn expensive, I tell ya. I think my best bet right now is to just try to repair what I've got. I may even look into running an aerater next winter...

I saw this dock in Maine, it's all you!! It was a removable dock, about 16' long and had those old big steel wagon wheals mounted about 4' from the end. They simply role the thing out for the winter and role it back in in the spring and fasten the end to land. Pretty cool.

If I rebuild what I've got, I won't hafta pull any permits. Plus, I don't think my waterfront elevation would be too condusive to pulling a dock out & up...![]()
