Obsessive, last minute cross shopping... Just found 2.5% with 0.25% points advertised from WFHM.

Edit: Phuck! Wrong tab. That was new purchase rates. Their 15 year is actually 2.875%. As you were.

Sold 25% of my tesla stock, at 100% return. First time I've seen that. Roth account so no taxes either.

Over the last 10 years or so I have been selling off Apple to pay for vacations. I don't really regret it but wow, if I had all those shares today...…...

I sold like 15 shares of shop in 2018 for 130 ish, because I needed cash for something. Oh I remember, motorcycle parts for my new bike. Trading today at $750, down from 800. Oh well. Fun vs money is probably equal for that transaction.

I don’t know how this compares to what you are all using for a checking account, but DCU just bumped up the checking account rate to 0.5% for up to a $25k balance. Savings account gets 5% on first $1k.

I’ve been with them a LONG time and it is a pretty solid little operating account. They’ve only increased benefits too.

My Capital One 360 Performance savings account is at 1.15% APY
My Ally savings was 1.25% APY......

So I transfer all my savings over to Ally (you know, for the extra 1 cent per month)...

The day after the transfer clears Ally sends all customers an email "We're lowing everyone's rate to 1.10%

*transfers everything back to Cap One.

I wouldn't say I really am nickel and diming anything. Just happens that my current bank seems pretty great.

I think my set-up is pretty standard to most: direct deposit puts some in my checking and and some in a long term savings account. I do my day to day out of the checking and don't ever really touch the long term savings. Reconfigure dollars when/if needed or one a big expenditure or cash inflow comes up.

I was so sure of amazon stock that I put a not-insignificant proportion of my savings in it a few years ago. Average cost basis of 1100 per share. I sold it the other day for 2500 per share given all time high and all this pandemic shit. If it dumps on poor earnings this summer I might buy back in. It wasn't a lot of shares, but still. I felt pretty good there. Especially since I feel like I am behind on my savings and retirement positioning vs. where I want to be / should be.

I got into synchrony savings which was the highest at one point. I think today it's at 1.05%. I'm too lazy to move it around though...

AMZN was the only thing I own that was in the red today. Even my bond funds were in the green

TSLA is the stock that scares me. How many stocks go up 25% after the CEO says it's over valued

Ya'll made me look. I was in the green today. .. No longer in the green when you zoom out to the 5 day, 1 month, 6 month or 1 year charts.

    Re: educate me 401-k

Last week was a rough week... Today opened with everything being down but it's currently moving in the right direction again. I bought a couple of shares in anything that I've taken a loss on in recent days, but that's not much. Overall I'm in fairly decent shape.

TSLA.... yeah... it's been a scary ride on that one for sure. I bought that back when it was $229. Just wish I bought more than 5 shares! I was gonna buy more, but by the time I considered doing that the price shot up beyond what I was willing to pay.

I hate thinking back about 10 years when I thought to myself "Ya know, I should really buy some of that Amazon stock...." I think it was around 150-200 a share at the time and I almost bought about 10 shares. Fahk!

Don’t think about those 10 years ago. No way in hell to have known.

Remember 3 months ago when I said tesla wouldn’t survive and go bankrupt? Yeah... I think was a bit wrong... $1000+ lol

    Re: educate me 401-k

I got out of the market when the DOW was at 29.5K and back in when it hit 22.5K. I'm really thinking of pulling everything out again - it sure feels like Covid is going to linger, and if it does (and there is another spike when everyone goes back to school) the market is going to go to sh1t again. Except for Amazon and Tesla....

I think if this next round of stimulus drags out more than a week or two we’re going to see another tanking. But who the fuck knows. Tesla has been good for me so far. Sold another 5 shares of Tesla at 200% up.
