    Election Nov3 stocks

Some of you have money in stocks and/or 401K

I am thinking that if TRUMP wins it will be like it is maybe up a few points

    BUT

If Biden-Harris win what immediate response or after 6 months post swearing in

Get out 11/4, wait them out, it never really matters over 5 years

    Put cash under the bed

    The calculus of hate

It is not that I should win it is that you should lose
It is not that I succeed it is that you fail
It is not that I should live it is that you should die

    FIFY.

Don't worry. Wall St loves anti-capitalism. And regulation. And new taxes. And that catalyst called The Green New Deal will fire up the economy. It will be beautiful.

There is a good argument to be made that Biden winning will cause a short term market downturn.

If deficits get under control and the underlying real, non-Wall st economy rebounds it will be fine.

There is also and argument to be made that a Biden win will stabilize the market because it will be a turn away from chaos.

I will stay in the market and I will not throw my money into any of the four precious metals

What are the indicators you look for that the real economy is in trouble or rebounding?

Unemployment, wage growth, consumer confidence, gdp growth, balance of trade for starters

So long as we're not talking about bilateral trade deficits and we're looking at the bigger picture...

My thought too. Many large corporations are unable to make long term business plans because they never know what unexpected trade barriers/tariffs the current administration will throw up at a moments notice.

    Re: Election Nov3 stocks

Not meant as bait to turn this thread into another political shit show, but what exact policies or regulations has Biden proposed that would lead to vast fiscal instability? These would have to be Executive Orders that would survive lawsuits with an ultra conservative Supreme Court, since it is unlikely that one party will control all three branches in 2021.

I think markets used value stability more than virtually anything else but that has changed pretty dramatically with much higher "retail" investors in the market. There are a lot of people who believe "stocks only go up" driving the likes of the FANG and tech stocks beyond reasonable heights. That being said, I am right on the cusp of retirement and have a fair amount invested in the market, and have no plans to turn this to cash unless we regress substantially with Covid, regardless of the party in control.

Plus, markets are irrationally high now so a pullback is as likely as not. Blaming it on the election results versus the normal ebbs and flows of a Covid market depends on the narrative being pushed.

    This.

If you think the numbers on your 401k statement are real, you’re an idiot.

If you are too aggressively invested in equities for your age and time to need I gotta the money because you are enjoying the ride, you’re a fool

Rebalancing over time, looking at need horizon, limiting transactional fees, tax loss harvesting are smart moves and all part of a long term save and let it grow with reasonable adjustments along the way strategy.

I'd rather have a more stable, healthy and marginally less prosperous market than our current market that might be soaring, but volatile, and propped up on hopes, dreams and shitty fucking policy.

My money's primarily in the tech, travel & tourism industries in the hopes that covid gets under control allowing them to rebound
