    Any electricians here?

I need to get a surge supressor/line conditioner for my office here. Single panel of breakers, about 40 circuits, some 220v.. I need something that actually attaches to the panel itself (not a UPS or a power strip, etc..).

If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

I've been checkin' them out.. I wish my company would let me drop the 'loot on a Symmetra array or something like that. I don't see any hardwire stuff though.

With 40 cks. you are going to be dropping a bunch of loot anyway. Why is it that you need line conditioning? Could a simple GFCI rated breaker do the trick for what you want? If not then plan on spending some serious cash.

yeah, APC comes to mind. I'm sure there are others, but they are leaders in surge suppression and backup power supplies.

I work in an old building in Boston.. We had an electrical surge that smoked 40 21" monitors and about 15 computers. (read: IT nightmare, since I didn't exactly have that kind of spare crap kickin' around).

The building management electrician is a jackass - so I want to do a little damage control (and spend some of the allocated insurance money, lest it go to marketing or sales) and buy myself some peace of mind.

Sounds to me like you got a good case to get the APC shit.

I have a small newwork, 4pc's, each on has its own 1400va UPS then all other office equipment is protected by a quality surge protector. the UPS's even allow me to run my office from a 5kw generator (very dirty power if you know what I mean)

I have had a couple of incidents, one where every 110 circuit was zapped with 220, and the other a lightning strike, both times I did not loose any office equipment or ups but I did have to replace several hundred $$ worth of surge protectors.

That's the whole idea of a surge supressor. It slowly gives up its life in order to protect your equipment.

Where do you live. Maybe I can direct you to a local electrical supply house where you can pick up the whole package. Some mfrs have surge supression built right into the panelboard which incidentally come 42 poles as standard.
