    New, fast SUVís

Whats out there thats fast? Wife wants a new SUV, but I want something quick. The compromise is a fast SUV I guess.

I dont need a 3rd row, donít need 4wd. It will be leased. The boss has mentioned a Cayenne repeatedly but I am not looking for another mortgage payment. I said Iíd never have another German vehicle but the X3M could be a contender, and since itís a lease reliability isnít really a concern. Any thoughts on other options to consider?

Trackhawk has a Hellcat in it. Pretty sure it’s the fastest production SUV on the market.

Porsche Macan S or Audi SQ5 are relatively affordable.

Super interesting choice, but not enough range to get me to LA and itís into six figures for the fast one with Ďludicrousí mode. Iíll wait a couple more generations on the electrics, Iím curious to see what Lucid does.

I looked at it, and she really wants a Porsche. They are gorgeous, but to get the big power itís just more than I want to spend. The X3M is as fast as the Trailhawk and will be hard to beat for the $. My problem with it is Iím not in love with the styling.

I'd have to look at the spec sheets again, but I'm pretty sure the Macan S is still very fast.

Explorer ST, 3.6 twin turbo v6 with 4wd. Not going to touch the Macan or the Q5 but it's no slouch either.

It is fast, just not nearly as fast as the BMW. 0-60 is 5.1 vs 3.3, and its down 150 hp. Options are also very expensive and put it at a similar price point to the X3 and the Jag. Its a beauty though.

    Re: New, fast SUVís

This topic is interesting. Personally, I’m a little less interested in how fast an suv/crossover is vs how well it handles. If I can chuck something into a corner with minimal sponge and/or body roll, I’m happy.
    That unicorn still eludes me.

Another reason I’m leaning towards the X3M. Headed to Scottsdale next Saturday to drive one..

I didn’t know the x3m existed and had to google it. That s58 motor is special. I have a soft spot for bimmers, and specifically turbo 6’s.

    Re: New, fast SUVís

GF's parents have a pretty loaded X3, not the M. I'd lease one for sure, but also feel like a cock driving it. They're old so it seems to work better for them. They actually bought the car based on things that actually matter, like how easy it was to get in and out...

I think that goes for all the cars you have listed other than the Alfa and the Ford. But I'd feel like something else if I had the Ford.

Alfa it is. I'd also go Volvo in a heartbeat but don't think they're fast.

Some great options. Definitely wouldn't want to own one long term, but lease/under warranty would be fun.
