    New fight topic: Windshield Wipers

We have argued about motorcycle/car brands, tires, oil, etc.
how did windshield wipers escaped the debate world of NESR?

I love whatever came on my Mazda 3 from the factory. Got 3.5 years out of them.
Since I have tried rain-x and Michelin that seem to get maybe a year. Now Iím looking to replace them again since fall just started. What do you guys like/hate?

I used to be a big Bosch Icon fan, but I recently switched to the Rain-X hybrid ones that I like better. I did also switch to Rain-X washer fluid which is awesome.

I don't think I've ever had a set of wipers last more than a year before I was unhappy with streaks or chattering.

Save yourself a ton of $$ and order through Rock Auto. The wipers I paid $50 for at Autozone for my Tundra were something like $6 at Rock Auto....all hindsight, of course.

It’s defintely worth it to get the high-end wiper blades, the ones that are ~$20 each. But usually at autozone/pepboys/etc they have a “buy two, get $10 rebate” or something like that

Who gives a shit? Just buy whatever and when they start sucking buy new ones.

Or.. thought here. If you liked the factory ones go to the dealer and buy them.

If it’s not under warranty don’t come bitching at me.

Have tried a bunch over the years and the oems have gone to the systole of the icons with all the hidden hardware. With that being said if your oem ones now are really good. I’m a fan of the ones with replaceable wiper inserts. As your just paying for the rubber.

Been using Rain-X and they are fine.

Related note, I used Rain-X Interior Anti Fog and Rain-X Water Repellent on my truck and it was absolute trash. I spent at least an hour detailing the windshield, applying the Rain-X, then buffing it off, all per instructions. Spent the next two months staring through a greasy film, wondering why I wasted my time on it. Maybe I didn't buff it out enough? I don't know, but every time it got cold, hot, wet, dry, or we had weather of any type, it would just turn into a foggy mess.

He should just trade in this pos once the factory blades are done. What an asshole for thinking he could replace them.

Go lease a new car from joe and we can all move on.

For years I swore by Cottonelle, but Angel Soft is doing some great stuff. I hear 2019 might see a 3-ply quilted weave at the cost of a 2-ply. Could be a game changer.

I have tried a few different brands of wipers including Rain-X. I have found they always start skipping and streaking after a little while (12-15k miles?)

I recently read that it's more to do with impurities building up on the windshield itself and not the wipers. The car detailing forum that I read said to try claying the windshield regularly to solve this. I have not gotten around to doing that.

In addition to that, try giving your existing wipers a good cleaning with alcohol to remove any impurity buildup.

While on the topic, do you switch to winter wipers for cold weather?

I always replace with Anco winter wiper blades, once I have replace them, never had to do it again as long as I owned the vehicle.

I also use RainX, don't use wipers much, mostly to clean slop off windshield in winter, I also use the RainX brand wiper fluid as well
