Looks like Jerry still needs to work on watching his caloric intake... a true poster child for the average NASCRAP fan.

I'm all for having a better infield PA system, but IMO that pales in comparison to improving a weather warning system that can keep tens of thousands of people safe. We've both seen how fast really shitty weather can come rippin through there. You and I are pretty well protected in our nice little garage. People in the stands aren't.

IMO, this is NOT a gripe item.

Seriously? It was a freak accident. How many times has someone died from foul weather in the parking lot over the total time nascar has been running? Seems like a lot of money and effort for something that's really not a problem. Do they have a weather warning system at place at the local tennis courts or the local camp ground?

This accident didn't happen inside the track area. It was in the camping/parking.

Dude I'm sorry but you really have no sense of the big picture some-times. You're worried about the infield PA system over people's lives? Guess what, when people are camping they have a place to go, same with a tennis court, their cars.

Ever been to Loudon on a Nascar weekend? Without a VIP parking pass you're likely to be parking a GOOD 20-30 minutes walking from the track, sometimes more than that. That's a long ways to go in a severe thunderstorm. Say what you want about NASCAR, spectator safety at any sport is paramount to anything else.

The infield pa comparison was a joke.

Yes I have been to a Loudon Nascar Weekend with my aunt and uncle. And this warning system is for people outside the race track. Ie. in the camping/parking area. If they are in the camping/parking area when they need the alert chances are they are at their vehicles or close to them. Plus if you are in the grandstands when the storm strikes the track mentioned you can seek refuge under the bleachers until the storm passes over.

And it said in the video he was leaning on his car when he was struck....

PS...your big picture isn't 1080. My picture might be a little smaller, but it's clear and brilliant.

So that particular guy was dumb, but that doesn't discount that dangers the weather poses when thousands of people are caught outside far from a shelter of some sort. That's all I'm saying.

So that means there wasn't an intelligent person who has ever gotten killed because of inclement weather at the track during a nascar event. It's never happened, but I'd say its probable in maybe the next eh...1000 years. I'm sure they can find something better to spend their money on....

    PS...I edited my last post...
