    Spit or spilled??
You need to remove the keyboard, hold it upright, and spray it with alcohol to wash it down. You have dried coffee in the key contacts.

When all else fails a replacement keyboard is probably like $30

Probably has to be named brand model number if not obvious is in the battery tray

Laptop keyboards are typically pretty easy to remove if you have patience with any snap-fit plastic parts. Find the service manual for it, or watch someone do it on youtube. Usually a plastic bezel pops off revealing a few small screws. Clean any coffee residue out with alcohol or electric contact cleaner.

The keys themselves can be individually removed as well. But that can be annoying. I'd probably get the keyboard itself out. Give it a good shaking. Then put it somewhere dry for a few hours.

If this was fairly recently, hopefully it's just liquid left over messing with your key contacts. But a replacement keyboard off ebay is usually pretty easy.

didn't start having issues till the liquid (coffee with a ton of chocolate in it) dried

Just pick up a replacement keyboard. If you let the chocolaty coffee dry in the keys before removing the keyboard and rinsing it out while it was still wet, you'll be chasing sticky/stuck/non-op keys for eternity.

If it has chocolate in it, dip it in really warm water then a full alcohol bath to dry it.

OR, at that point, buy a replacement keyboard.

Depends on how much your time is worth.

For the cost to replace the keyboard, I'm betting you won't bother disassembling, washing, drying, reassembling, trying it out, potentially doing it all over, etc.
