    Re: floor jack

If you wanna pick one up local, this looks like the exact same thing.

    https://www.harborfreight.com/automo...ack-64544.html

I've got this one, works great.

    https://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton-...ack-56624.html

Mine's silver though, not red, so it's got a little less horsepower but I don't notice any difference in the 0-60.

Pickup a 3 ton jack from Sears 20 years ago still works. When craftsmen stuff was well built..But I like the low profile ones on the mkt now. Napa sells a good unit that we use at work. Sorry no linky

I would guess that at the same specs and price point, these are all made in the same place, just by different children who put different labels on them.

    there's always these...

    Snap-on uses a proprietary adamantium/vibranium alloy

specs are close, except the snap-on that has 4-5 more inches of lift..... and they don't say it's aluminum, some are hybrid, with aluminum frame & steel lifting arm. Some are all aluminum, I'm kinda leery of 3 pumps to full height that some have

Harbor fright isn't just around the corner for me, the Northern Tool jack I linked in my 1st post would end up being $340, once shipping is added, is 12 pumps to full lift, it also has a half inch more lift than most, and a quarter inch lower, which could be an advantage in some situations, I could easily lift one side of most cars. After I check with NAPA, if they don't have anything better (my local NAPA always has sources other than NAPA) without paying double, the one from Northern tool is probably the one I will get

I want an aluminum one, cause it is something I plan on throwing in the back of my UTV on occasion. I have a compact steel floor jack now, and it sucks

    Re: floor jack

I checked with NAPA today, nothing better than the Northern Tool jack that I linked, it was cheaper to join their buyers club that includes free shipping $39, instead of paying shipping $40, and Microsoft Edge found me a $20 coupon

anyone with experience with a "Bone" creeper, the Rough Rider has larger 5" wheels and I like the design, have you ever got your hair caught in a creeper wheel ?

BUt, no one has em in stock that I can find

i have both. silver stays in the garage. red stays in the trailer for tires changes while towing. i think the red one is supposed to be faster with the removable handle or some BS. both do the same job.

The Snap-on fj300 weighs over 110 pounds. It’s not a light weight jack and is over kill for the hobbyists. It is a US made jack with an out sourced pump.

The FJ175 is the AL jack and is also made in the USA. Alabama to be exact.

So… buy cheap and support the foreign economy or open the wallet and support American jobs and the economy.

Snap on stuff is religiously overpriced. In this case the jack is 4x the cost of the harbor freight one. How do you justify that?

Harbor Freight is an American Company with American employees. So, buying stuff from them is Supporting the USA! We return now to the topic of the thread. LOL

nice jack, if you don't mind that it weighs 103 lbs, it was worth it for me to spend $90 more for a 56 lb aluminum jack, otherwise specs are nearly identical

Very easily. Ride with me for a day and I’ll show you shops that have bought the “Daytona “ because of price. They now sit in the corner of the shop because of failure. It’s about doing the job time and time again without failing.

Now I’m talking in a professional shop where the jack is used a couple dozen times a day…. Day after day … think inspections. Shop owners don’t have time to return the product to the store for warranty.

If you’re not a professional that turns wrenches for a living then you just don’t understand. Price is not a factor when it comes to quality and a tool that performs a job time and time again without failing.

I hope I answered your question.

But if you only think with your wallet then I’ll be “wrong” in your eyes and there’s nothing I can do or say to change your mind.
