Great bounce. Already in another band? Hats off to ya. I have no desire to be in a band at the moment but I like hearing people doing it.

Fuck. That never occurred to me, but now I might have to. I have an old fender too, and it smells after it’s been cooking a while. Old, hot wood.

Whats the best and safest way to clean up the grunge on the body and frets? I tried some fret conditioner type stuff, but its def not enough to get it clean, but didn't want to try anything harder to start.

That Origin finally showed up Wednesday. So far, so good. I have yet to see a YT video where it sounds great, but in person, it does all the things I need. Which, is a mild grind, not quite clean, not quite full gain. I like it. Lots of hate out there in internet land, but I’m digging it.

Put painters tape either side of the fret to protect the board and sand the fret with oooo steel wool. Repeat all the way up the neck. Cover the pick ups with tape to prevent the filings from sticking. Hit the board with Formbys lemon oil, can be used on the body too.

Just brought home a nearly brand new GK 212-ii Neo cab. MAN it sings. Can't wait for practice Wednesday night to pair it with my GK 115-ii Neo cab. This Mesa Subway D-800 can push both with ease.

Any of you built a guitar from an eBay kit? Ive seen some decent reviews, and it would be fun to put it all together. Not expecting a gigging guitar, but something decent to dick around with in my room.

Negative, but itís super interesting. Iíve Ďrebuiltí loads of guitars but never built one from a kit or otherwise. Iíd love to have a more expansive luthier tool kit. Iíve got what I need to finess a kit guitar, but like our other addictions more is more! Doing your own custom fret marker inlays, bindings, etc would be badass (geekout)

I've never built a kit, but I've put together several teles and two strats out of various parts and bit and bobs.
Both of my main teles are, in fact, partscasters. Its a slippery slope, but totally worth it.

This will clean any and all grime off the fret board. Tape off the sound hole on an acoustic too. I use a paint brush to clean off the steel wool debris. I finalize it with Fret Doctor. Go light with it and rub any excess off with paper towel and you are ready to string up and play.

Well, I needed something new in my life, and decided to try a kit guitar. So I bought a tele kit. Left handed, cause why the fuck not. Ill probably get new pickups, since Im sure the ones in the kit are garbage. It'll be a fun project even if it doesnt end up working as a playable guitar.

Anybody tried the new Ernie Ball Prodigy picks? I havenít been able to find any, but the sharp bevel on them looks like they might work well. I got a pack of Snarling Dogs recently with similar bevel but they are thin for my taste (1.14)
Iíd like to have similar in 1.5 or heavier.

Nah, I haven’t delved into the rabbit hole of boutique picks.
I stick with what I know: yellow tortex. .73 or something.

Some things I donít mess with (my strings for example). I think my taste in picks moves a bit with what Iím playing at the time. I can always get by with the tortex or Dunlopís either side of 1mm, but jazz picks and oddly shaped shit doesnít work for me.
