Let's hear about your trips around the world!

I've been to the UK, Italy, the Bahamas, and Canada. (NB, NS, and Quebec)

Not sure how many states I've been to.. I would really have to think about it but I'd guess about 20-25. Definitely all of them on the east coast, and I've been to Colorado to go visit the AF Academy, and then I went to Texas on a job interview and I've been to California quite a few times.

I went to Italy with a group in HS. We got lined up by a bunch of Uzi-toting police after some kid in our group spit out a window...

Not fun.. I wasn't sure whether to be more angry with the kid, or more happy to get back to the US.

The UK was cool but one of my main impressions was that you were being watched by the police everywhere you went via surveillance cameras.

I have no real desire to bother spending my money overseas on vacations until I visit a lot more of the US.. I'd rather stay here, we have a big country with lots of cool people and places to see, and it is a hell of a lot less of a hassle.

Let's hear about your trips around the world!

I've been to most of Asia. I lived in Kyoto Japan for 6 months and Hong Kong for another 3. While I was over there, I saw China (Shanghai, Wuhan, Guangzhou, and Shenzen), Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

Never been to Europe, Africa, Oz, or South America.

And I did the Canada and Mexico thing.

Let's hear about your trips around the world!

So many more places to visit, and see, but the list to date includes

    USA
    Canada
    Jamaica
    Cuba
    Mexico
    Brazil
    Colombia
    England
    Ireland
    Scotland
    Netherlands
France (lived there first 6 years of my life)
    Germany
    Austria
    Lichtenstein
    Luxembourg
    Switzerland
    Italy
    Greece
    Turkey
    Taiwan

Only place I have lived outside this country is France. Traveled most other places either for pleasure, a few (Taiwan, Colombia, Brazil) strictly for business.

    I *HEART* traveling

But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.

Let's hear about your trips around the world!

I used to love to travel, but I have lately developed a fear of flying (unrelated to terrorism).

I think I watched too many Discovery Channel shows about plane crashes. Now I have to be completely sedated to even go near one of the damn things.

y'know... too much knowledge can be a dangerous thing: I was fine w/ flying from the time I was a little kid-- right up until I got in the business of fixing airplanes. suddenly, I became aware of a LOT MORE THINGS that could go wrong!

even tho, intellectually, I knew that planes were statistically wa-a-ay safer to travel in than, say, cars... it took years before my heart didn't jump at every twitch, noise, and wiggle that I now knew possible causes of...

there are programs... and I think one operates out of Logan... that are specifically designed to help people get over this fear.

end of the "class" is an actual, local flight... apparently, they have a pretty high success rate...

I love flying, to me the flight is just the first part of the vacation, I look forward to it every time

cruzan, I have to think, there's a good dive shop up in like the billerica area, but I forget what it's called, maybe Northeast Scuba? anyway, I've bought a bunch of equipment there, had stuff tuned by them, and tagged along with a class or 2 to test out new gear. I'll try to remember the name...

    Ottowa
    British Columbia
    Quebec

hey! all of this talk of overseas reminds me...

it was EXACTLY five years ago, today, that I stepped off an Icelandic flight @ Logan to begin living in the good ole US of A again... after spending the better part of the previous two decades living in Germany / England.

    yeah, I know... no biggie.

that's why it's there. I don't care to travel all over really. I would rather go fewer places and have a good time there and a great home life. I like being at home and whenever I go somewhere home is always on the mind, I assume it will be more so when we settle into a house and have kids.

The reptilian aspect is the reason for the rainforest. ssooooooo many opportunities there. I need a macro camera lens before I go though......

    One strange trip

    No military service.
    College program

Considering that when I started the big journey in Vancouver BC I never had been on a commercial airliner..........and drove all over New England to like Albany (the furthest West) then to DC. (I went over the Key bridge to say I'd been to VA) lol.

After circling the globe, I embarked on checking out the US of A.
Now I love to check things out

Oh, I forgot Hawai'i. 11 hours on a plane SUCKS.

Cruise ships are the way to go!

Let's hear about your trips around the world!

I have been around a bit.

    In Europe:

    England
    Ireland
    Northern Ireland
    Netherlands
    Sweden
    Norway
    Germany
    Belguim
    France
    Austria
    Spain
    Czech Republic

Most several times and I lived in England for a spell

    Asia:

    China 2 times
    Japan 6 times
    South Korea 6+ times

    Autralia 2 times

    South America:

    Brazil 4 times
    Argentina
    Chile

    North America:

    29 US states
    Canada
    Mexico
    Bahamas
    Jamaica

Most was for business. Best "business only" trip was a road trip from Buenos Aires to Santiago across the Andes by car. Best "business/pleasure" trips were to PAris, Rio de Janiero and The Atlantis in the Bahamas. Haven't done many pleasure only trips, oddly enough
