any want to go hike the "wave "

So the wave is The Wave-Coyote Buttes |
    Utah.com

i don't have permits but am am trying to hike in july/ aug/ sept maybe oct.
I put in for 2 tix ( its lottery based) Wife would lie to go but some things more than likely will keep her from going. So i'm throwing it out there if any one wants to join me and do some other hiking etc around the area. if you just want to head out and do some hiking and show up for the same day hiking lottery i'd be game for that too. only 2o permits a day. 10 per online lottery, 10 per same day show in person lottery.

omg I love Utah... only been once. Arches & Canyonlands for like, 4 days but fucking loved it. Need to get back there one day, pref with a bike.

EDIT: Ya know what? If no one jumps on this, keep me in mind. Just depends on cost.

That looks awesome. Wish I could go. I love Utah and have been to all of the National Parks there and many other areas too. Swing over to Page while you are there and visit Antelope Canyon. Bonneville Salt flats is pretty impressive in scale, but a long drive from anywhere and the only town nearby (Wendover) is pretty awful.

I've been out there a few times.... hiked negro bill canyon... camped over night in arches on the primitive trail etc etc....
Always wanted to the wave. Worse comes to worse. I'll show up with 2 passes and give one away to someone while i'm out there...

The roads out there are awesome.....!!! went in fall and got stuck in a snowstorm at the peak of the escalante moutnains?? at midnight

    Late Update.....
I did win the lottery last year. Wound up going early Feb and I had 2 extra spots. Chose my buddy Brian who is Puppet on this board and his wife.
It was awesome great last trip before COvid hit. Couldnt take the wife as she was 7 months pregnant.
We wound up using a guide just to focus more on the experience and to have a back up incase us old guys had something that went wrong
I landed the night before ,
took off at 6am? hit the trail head at 8? at the wave by 10/11? lunch then the hike back.
other than the wave we expored some other areas and pictures cant do it justice.
We even ran across some washes and pulled flint arrowheads of the dirt..... just laying in the dirt. easy 200 years old
I flew out the next afternoon. it was a short trip but so worth it.

Awesome. I did a similar and smaller hike in December outside of Las Vegas at the Valley of Fire state park. Very similar landscape, really damn cool.

Highly recommend. I've done 5 weeks out there since the beginning of December, there's a lot of great stuff to do outdoors. Valley of Fire is about an hour drive north, Red Rock is about 30 minutes. For 4x4 activities...I'm going to do a UTV rental next time I have a day off out there, seems like you can get a half day for about $300. The trophy trucks are like $400 for a few laps.

If you're not going to stay at a resort, check out Home2 Suites at Las Vegas Convention Center. It's under $100/night, has a small kitchenette, and a couple of Weber Summit grills in the outdoor area. It's also pretty much brand new so everything is clean and the mattresses are nice....I did find a crackhead passed out in the parking garage elevator though...Check out the Arts District for food and drink. It's roughly between Center Strip and the old Strip on S Main St. There's about 25 restaurants and 5 breweries, pretty much all of them have expansive outdoor seating, most of the food is excellent. It's the hipster part of town. Lots of food trucks around there. Go by Ser Veh Sah to grab good beers to the hotel. Beto's Taco's on Craig Rd has the best street tacos in town.

This is from last year's Death Valley run. I'm headed there again Feb 6. It's beautiful there this time of year.
