it's hooah to you if you're gonna be wearing ACU's, complete with built-in pen holders and covered with plenty of vel-cro. Good luck at basic.

    Re: hoorah to me?

Umm ya... PRIVATE! Friggin spell and SAY HOOAH!! Right!

What the hell have they been teaching you? Now DROP and give me 20.

In the RSP program huh? You should learn alot.

One word of advice? EVERYONE in the army has been to basic and they are ALL the same, yours will be NO tougher than anyone elses (especially not the old timers). Do NOT forget that basic is just the beginning.

I hate hearing Privates come back from basic and be all cocky with "My basic was SOO tough" stories. It is friggin BASIC Training.

    Re: hoorah to me?

sorry about the hooah miss spelling I had a few beers in me when I posted this. I'm loving the company right now, 399th kicks ass. RSP? I have no clue what that is but i'm in the "future soldier" program. I'm actually surprised that they're giving me a uniform but accepting very happily. Yeah the only thing that'll be tough about basic is oklahoma in the middle of july and august. The i'm off to Ft. Sam for a while, which from what I heard from every single person I talked to yesterday its gonna be a blast.

    Re: hoorah to me?

The ratio of Male to Females at Ft Sam is like 5 women for every guy.

RSP is "Recruit sustainment program" basically a Pre Basic done at your home unit.

Really glad you happy. Just remember to ALWAYS keep the "active duty" mindset for your entire career and don't fall victim to being a Pogue and slacking.

yeah I hear that, the unit is definitely laid back. but they also get offered a lot of spots at random schools, i guess they got 8 slots for air assault school and airborne is available often too, both of which I would love to attend.

    +1

Do all the HOOAH stuff before you get too old. You'll always have the "bling" then.

I guess it'll be nice having college credits though, get to start as a specialist, although i'm sure the Drill sergeants won't care, but the paycheck will, and that's all that matters

Yep, the rank will help... get you more work.

Be prepared for the DS's to give you the responsiability and blame/ yell at you when it all goes wrong.
