May not be the cheapest but would definitely be a killer setup for 2-3 bikes, no fumes in the sleeping quarters and rather compact for speed & fuel economy.

Hard to find? Pay a premium? You got a crew version as well, rare and dope.
170wb is too big for me, but I'm envious and always in the market for a 144wb 4x4 if the deal is right.

It's not a crew. They added the windows in the order. Apparently they get a bunch of the cargos with updated features to sell to van conversion companies.

Springfield Mercedes has two 144" 4x4 if you are really looking.

Actually, looks like there is a handful around here.

I wonder if they're actually available.

I called the dealer JC went to, He says he's never seen the demand so high for them. They sell within a couple days. Crazy.

Yep. Was talking to Kris H. the other day about his 170 4x4 and he had a hell of a time getting one, even working with dealers that had them in stock.

Ford E-Transit.. I expect it to be what the explorer was to them in the 90s. It will be a total success.

Transit is just as hard to find right now, especially the awd version. Not sure when the electric version is coming out.

I plan on doing long distance with mine, so not sure that would be an option for me anyways.

I know Amazon has been buying up a lot of the vans. The computer chip shortage is probably playing in as well.

There's a couple sellers in California making BANK purchasing totaled Amazon sprinters, fixing, and selling with salvage title.
Prices are only slightly lower than they *should be without salvage title, but its way lower than a clean title and one of the few games in town.

The more I look, the more I realize $28.5k private party was a steal for mine (2016 w/ 35k miles when purchased), even if it is the base of base models

Re: Moto-Vans What do I need to know?

I was looking at used, but the pricing isn't much cheaper than new. I think I'm leaning towards a sprinter because the 4x4 sprinter and awd transit aren't that far off in price new. I think Mercedes is a little better quality and I like the 170wb platform. My plan is to put a garage in the back, so the extra 2 feet will come in handy. I also prefer 4x4 over awd as I think the gas mileage will be better and think 4x4 is a better system.

I might sell my Ram now to capitalize on the higher used value and wait for the market to cool out this winter a little bit.

Also, not sure if I "need" 4wd, but seeing as it will be my main ride, feel a little more comfortable with it in the winter or spring at the mx track.

Re: Moto-Vans What do I need to know?

I just worked on the van a bit and removed the Victron Battery monitor and Renogy Bluetooth module. Only reason for removing is that Renogy came out with a plug/play reader for their MPPT/Battery Charger that replaces the Victron Monitor and takes up the Bluetooth port.

Happy to make a very good deal here. $140 for Victron, $20 for BT module?

It’s the exact one I linked. I went to my orders on Amazon to pull that.

I finished the walls, and I added a plate for my pit-bull plates. I’m not too happy with the plate, it’s not as elegant as I would have hoped so I will make some changes.

I’d be curious if someone has setup the bolts for a TRS system on a set of recessed I-Track. None the less the envy I have for the van is high

I’m sure it’s been done. I’m thinking of something similar to that wood setup, but with metal maybe welding tie down points directly to the plate.

Re: Moto-Vans What do I need to know?

No towing and minimal use honestly. I took a very remote job shortly after getting it and I haven’t used it for anything cool. I will say that it’s awesome for Home Depot runs and with a little more storage work it will be an amazing race hauler.
