how do I know which network card/adapter I have?

I installed win2k pro on a formatted drive of a used computer (p4, 1.6GHz, 512mb ram), but now I can't connect to the internet because the network controller drivers aren't installed (code 28)

if it's an integrated network adapter, and the device manager/system information doesn't show any model #, how else can I find out which network adapter I have so that I can d/l the drivers to get it working?

Typically most motherboards have drivers available at the manufacturers website.

Go to another computer and type in manufacturer ... motherboard model number and drivers.

If you don't get a yellow dot in Device Mangler (tm) then the drivers are working.
