The official beard and mustache thread

I did a search, there's been a couple little threads that never really turned into anything. I think we need to get a little more serious about this guys. I know I can't be the only with a beard.

    http://www.nestreetriders.com/forum/...are-87273.html
    http://www.nestreetriders.com/forum/...ers-81394.html

These are the two threads I've found which are specifically about products. I just use coconut oil in mine and fiber in my mustache, which isn't strong enough and I am eating it by about 10am. Making some home made mustache wax out of beeswax from my hives this week though, hopefully that works better.

Post your ugly mugs. Let's talk about beards.

    Let's hope so anyways.

Mine has been growing since June. Trimmed the sideburn area slightly back in august I believe to keep it from puffing out quite so much which wouldn't have been an issue if I found coconut oil sooner. I edge it up once in a while. Gonna try some different stuff with the mustache once I get the wax made up.

I've always had a beard since highscool. Last time I shaved was graduation in 2008. It's usually short though. New girlfriend gave the greenlight on the longer beard and here we are.

I've had a beard since before I could grow a decent one. I shaved it off for one two-week period in the '90's, for work, then grew it back.
I keep it fairly short, and do not use any special products for it.

Started growing one in August... not quite sure what to do with it. Trying to stay somewhat professional, but I feel like it's kinda past that point already.

Also, I need suggestions for shit to put in it. I've been using conditioner and Honest Amish wax with ok results.

I use Honest Amish balm. I was tired of it just flaking everywhere and being so dry. When i use it it feels like i barley have a beard its not itchy or dandruffy . I would give it a try. I really like it.

I have a tight mustache and goat. Nothing worth posting. I grew it in my early 30's as I had too much a baby face, I mean scars, waaayyyy too many scars from razor nicks, and knife fights, yeah knife fights, with swords and axes. Now my wife doesn't want me to shave it, but I am ready to have it gone. To show off the scars and stuff...

(Sorry, felt kind of pathetic compared to some of these pics...)

That's not unprofessional. You can have a huge one and have it be professional as long as you take care of it. Which I am still working on lol.

Dude try coconut oil in it. Good for your face and skin and it makes the whole thing wicked soft. Won't flake either. Highly recommend.

Re: The official beard and mustache thread

Does anyone else think it's incredibly funny to see big tough looking dudes on a motorcycle forum exchange tips about coconut oil and face wax?

I realize it's the 21st century and the time of the modern man, but somehow, part of me thinks men shouldn't be openly comparing notes on makeup or grooming products.

Whats next? You post in the gun thread and then jump in here and post in the face oil thread?

    That doesn't sound right, lol.

Hey man, the stuff works and its cheap(ish) lol. I dunno if you've got a beard but if it gets at all big it needs stuff in it to keep it under control. Or you just need to never shower so your natural face oil is all over it.

    That's nasty.

    Use coconut oil.

The majority of people I've met on this board have faces better served without pictures. This thread could be a total disaster, and as a result, possible thread of the year! Don't scare these bastards away the rest of you. Stay calm and let it just happen.

I'll never have a real beard. Borderline clinical trichotillomania... soon as it gets past a 4 on my trimmer I just can't deal.

I do have a natural Hitler stache though. Seriously, something about photos brings it out. , tried to just embrace it once but my wife was not too impressed
