I don’t think there’s much if any misinformation in here. Plenty of opinions. But I don’t think anyone is flat out wrong.

There’s actually a post counter before you can join threads?

It's getting about time to dust off the CX bike. Thinking about hitting some of the local trails.

That ice cream was epic. We definitely had the most fun out of everyone there.

Which track has ice cream?! Ice cream rides are a staple workout.

Thankfully a week of CX had saved me from my annual early summer spazout. I felt like crap during the Purgatory race, and I haven't been on the road since. Hitting the road tonight feeling somewhat refreshed.

    Re: Official non-motorized motorcycle thread.

I finally ran into Kate Courtney out here.

    She was with her boyfriend

Some middle aged dude was going on and on and on about how she makes everyone in Marin proud.
I proceeded to head over to the water fountain she was at, empty my water bottle to then fill it back up.
Dude was still going on when my bottle was re-filled.
Told her she rocked and rode away....lets just call it the slow play.

The way she tolerated that other dude was impressive. Made me a believer of the hype...but I wouldn't have minded her respectfully telling him to get lost either.

I honestly felt bad for her boyfriend as he stood there...not only is she getting bombarded non stop in the states, I can only assume she has the likes Mathieu fucking van der Poel on her shit.

I’ll be away that weekend, but I’ll be looking towards doing some of the gravel fundos that are around.

Any chance we can drag you out to some cyclocross races in September? It is a blast! Totally different than the road scene.

    Nope.
One thing I’m not doing for some length of time is racing. Anything.
The only exception is the Freetown50, if’n I can ride some bicycles before then, and the weather cooperates enough so that I won’t overheat out there.

I’ll be at a couple cross races to heckle, drink beer, and eat donuts; the couple local ones anyways.

What am I missing when it comes to riding in the drops? I feel like I'm crushing my gouch, hip angle totally closed, way less power and faster fatigue, etc.

What you might be missing is a proper fit.
I typically use the drops to hide from the wind. I also slide forward a CH in the saddle and always make an effort to spin and drop my heels when I do that.
It’s always an exercise in form whenever I’m hiding from the wind.

I recently picked up my road bike again after a very long, LONG off season. Iíve got an garmin edge 820 and did a software update a few weeks ago. Since then, all my sensors (cadence, speed, and trainer except for HRM) keep cutting in and out. Iíve replaced the battery on the speed and cadence sensors but no luck. Has anyone ever experienced this? Iím not tempted to throw money at the sensors yet because the trainer also cuts in and out. Issue with the garmin?

Idk about the sensors but the only stat I really look at while I'm riding is heart rate. Everything else I'd say just use strava to record and look at later.
