I’ll be curious to see how you get along with it.
The only intel I have on such a product is that they don’t really break in like a leather saddle; what you see is what you get.
I’ve not ridden one other than around a parking lot.

    Re: Official non-motorized motorcycle thread.

Pretty excited to build this one .

Going to be my east coast do everything rig (road, race, dirt roads, explorer). Will be a 2x setup 52/36 on the front and 11-28 in the rear (but I got a mid-cage rear derailleur so I can run a 32 for "those days")

Parts I already have kickign around:
    -Zipp SL-70 Ergo Alluminum Handlebars
    -S-works cranks/power meter
    -Specialized Power Saddle

    Parts to get:
    -Zipp SL 110mm -17 Stem
-SRAM 11 speed Etap hydro flat mount
-Roval C38s - very excited about these. Roval's budget carbon wheelset (they swap out DT 240 hubs for DT 350 and use regular bearings instead of ceramic). Tubeless ready. 21mm interior width.
    -28c S-works turbo tubeless

Well sadly I didn't get on the bike the last two days. Did a stint at Edaville Railroad yesterday and was pretty cooked. I did manage a hour on the elliptical while watching moto gp practice.. That counts for non motorized right? Then the rest of the day at Davis Farmland. Hopefully some trail riding tomorrow and maybe Sunday on the fat bike.

Same, since I’ve turned this into the accountability thread. #didyourideyourbiketoday

My last ride was Tuesday, I flew down to NC yesterday afternoon to bring my kid to visit grandma for a few days. Back Sunday AM, plan on getting an hour in at some point that day. I’ve been jonesing for a fun MTB session, may go hit Village Park in Swansea.

I got out today for my normal loop. It started slow, but need up being an easy ride, stopped short because of dark. I'm closing in on a KOM on strava. It's a tiny segment, but I want it BAAAD

JettaJay, which Specialized is that and what are you going to run for tires?

I got in a good long (for me) ride today. The drier air was welcome compared to the last few weeks. I was nice to not be pouring sweat all over my bike for a change.

I tracked my last two rides with my phone app and saw something strange with the altitude tracking today that I didn't see on the last one. I rode a loop and the app said I climbed 1725ft but descended 1800ft. Since it was a loop I'd expect the numbers to be the same. Do you guys who track this kind of data see differences like this often, or is my app crap?

I brought a ringer 17 year old to a group ride with me today. He was behind me in the paceline and he went hammer down through devil's hopyard at the end of my pull. Couldn't catch up to the end of the line and got dropped like a bad habit.

Allez Sprint. I am going to run some wide 28c Specialized tubeless Swork Turbo tires. I normally don't run tires like this all the time because they wear out kinda quickly and are not the most durable, but this bike isn't going to get a ton of miles.

Work has been excitingly busy and this week lacked much riding. Finally able to relax a little yesterday and today with time to ride. Just did my normal road loop Thursday, but true to my word I am now on the gravel train. I explored the headlands a bit: 35 miles, 5k+ feet, right from my door. The profile is what dreams AND nightmares are made out of. More gravel tomorrow, heading up Tam for the first time not on pavement.

I thought you were done racing? From the quick Google that looks like a crit racing frame? What are your plans for this bike?

Racing 30 times a season...yes, done with that. Racing a couple times with my friends when I'm in Boston, not writing that off. Think of it how you raced motorcycles for like the past 5 years, compared to the first few.

It is often labeled a Crit racing bike, but it doesn't really differ that much from any other road bike. The latest allez sprint is disc brakes and can fit a 28c+ tire, which means I can take it just about anywhere other than wet trails. Its gonna get fat road tires and a groupset I love. It also means all my bikes are now 11 speed with hydro disc brakes, so I can purge a ton of rim break parts!

I'm thinking this might be a good fit for me. If you aren't on the facespace it's a:
2008 Specialized Tarmac Expert, all Ultegra components, Ksyrium SL Wheelset 58cm $700
    https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...ssenger_banner

I'm concerned with spending $700 on a 10 year old bike, but it's probably way ahead of my trek 1000. I don't know if it's worth just buying something more entry level thats new for a few hundred more. Ideally I would like something with 1x11 with disk brakes, but having never ridden one, i don't really know.

Ride #2. 13.19 in 50 min. First place I had to stop, couldn’t get out of clip in, had a zero mph tip over. Skinned knee, very minor shoulder landing, bike no scratches. Baptism by gravity...

Luckily I got all mine out of the way on the mountain bike. Haven't fallen from a pedal faux pas on the roadie yet. *Knocksonwood*

I can't help with the new vs 10 yr old bike decision other than to suggest that you ride both then decide.
