Most of the people I ride with the the bontragers and really like them. It's mostly a question on money at this point.

Let me guess, everyone goes to the same trek dealer?

Another good option if you are driving to/from the start of your ride is to stop at a DIY car wash.

Once I moved to a place with a hose, I just got one of those heated cords to wrap around my water pipe and left it on all winter. Figures that was also the same time I got a shower capable of fitting many bikes.

LBS is a Trek dealer, yes.

They keep people's feet warm, are comfortable, and last a long time. Checks all the boxes for this guy. Meh.

I think I would prolly just run a hose out of the basement. Might even tee off of the washing machine hot line.

    Walk in showers are sweet.
otherwise, pump sprayer full of warm water. does the trick.
Although to be perfectly honest, I just keep a cheap beater bike for salt season. sand and salt eats a drivetrain in short order.

    Hey Guys,
My name's Riley and I know a few of you from attending the occasional track day through Tony's. I've been lurking for a while, but just got around to registering my account.
I've been riding bicycles for much longer than i've been riding motorcycles, so naturally this is where I wound up. here's a bike i just picked up about a month ago, it's a hand built 650+ bike from one of my friends who's a local bike builder. I've always wanted a Pinion gearbox, and he gave me a deal I couldn't turn down, so I sold a couple bikes to make space. It's a blast!

That's really interesting, I didn't know there was more than one fabricator using that name.
The first Wraith I know of coming out of this shop was in 2003. I see the KY website says they started in 2009, but there's plenty of room for both.
In fact, it looks like they're on completely different sides of the spectrum. Daren strictly makes really unique mountain bikes and it looks like the other shop specializes in road and cx bikes. Daren makes one off bikes to order, we just happen to be the same size, so I can ride the bikes that he makes for himself. (score!)
I have a problem with breaking bikes, so I was drawn to the fact that he builds with steel and designs with strength as the #1 priority.

That single top tube is ripe for detaching at the head tube. Tread lightly.

It feels pretty good! it's very stiff and lighter than I was expecting it to be. Gearboxes are notoriously heavy, but I would guess that this thing is right around 34 lbs. in slow tech where backpedaling is required, the pedal feel is a little bit detached, but manageable. the pinion also doesn't really let you shift under load, but after about 10 minutes i learned how to let up on the pressure for a split second and slide it into gear. once you get the hang of it its not bad at all. After about 50 miles I could honestly say that I like it better. the ability to shift without moving is really useful and I miss it any time I'm riding a bike with a conventional drive train.

I am not done yet obviously but for those around Chelmsford I will have a bike shop open in the spring. I will be open limited hours before that when I am closer. I have a full stock of parts in off site storage waiting for the build to be done. Devastating news.

    https://www.caledonianrecord.com/new...d2ef6f918.html

Kinda the wrong time in my life...but potential is here. Franconia/Sugar Hill has basically fallen off the face of the map, despite amazingly easy access from the highway. The Zillow link doesn't seem to work, but its $1.25M and I recall that it came with the full XC ski shop inventory. I personally haven't skied there, but heard from friends that the trails are good.

I saw this earlier. I don't blame them one bit. It's become more of an amusement attraction than a cycling Mecca lately, and there's no policing of the rules and/or etiquette by KT at all.

I hope they get it sorted out, don't get me wrong, but surprised, I am not.

I haven't been to KT yet but I was a bit surprised that they listed the landowners by name in the article. I know one could find it out with a bit of searching but publishing it was crossing the line and definitely intentional.

What do you mean by this?

I have only been there once (late this year), so I don't have a feel for how things were before.
