Anything I have is going to be cast offs from about that era.
Do yourself (and your back) a favor. Put a top load stem and some really tall bars that are all the rage these days. The taller the better...your old ass will thank you.

I have a front load stem and a couple different pairs of bars that won’t be too tall for him, a black pair of Sunday forumph bars and a chrome pair of somethingorother that came on my fairdale...which means they’re probably odyssey.
I also have some brake stuff, I think.

Bought a bike that came with these. It appears the shoes need a clip to attach to the pedals?

Those shoes appear to be Shimano SPD pattern; you are missing the cleats which are a consumable item (though they take years to wear out). Get something like this: https://www.backcountry.com/shimano-...CABEgJC-PD_BwE

It's called an SPD Cleat. There's other types, but SPD is the most popular.

Edit: Number9 beat me to it.

Sometimes it's barely more expensive to buy a set of spd pedals with cleats instead of just buying the cleats alone.

I’m not using them, so I will launch them into the world of commerce shortly, but didn’t even know what to call them. The pedals seem to have a Nashbar logo on them. The shoes are size 44 which is a size 10 or so but I take 46/47.

    What about the bike though?!

Your LBS (Local Bike Shop) will have the cleats in stock.

    Re: Official non-motorized motorcycle thread.

I dipped my toe into the 650b/47ish gravel world today. All I can really say is: I wish I’d done it sooner.

A little slower on the pavement, not noticeably slower on anything not paved, all the way to single track, and loads more comfy than a 700/40.

Maybe the fact that I waited so long makes it extra sweet. Now, it’s like having my cake and eating it too with both wheelsets.

    Re: Official non-motorized motorcycle thread.

I bought a set of carbon Hunt hoops and slung them onto my fairdale.
Hunt wheels seem to be quite the bang for the buck. Fit/finish is well above their price point. I’ll probably grab a set of their xc wheels too, since I can’t ride crests anymore, after cracking 3 of them.

Admittedly I'm in better shape now than I was before, but all my PRs on Strava are on the gravel bike -- not the road bike.

    Official non-motorized motorcycle thread.

Without a doubt my actual road bike is way, way faster on the road.
But on the gravel bike, Iím out for a different kind of experience, and I do a lot of singletrack and stuff with it, so the added squish is welcomed with open arms.
