    Popa Ch ubby

Anyone catching this dude over in Salsbury, MA this weekend? That fuckin' slob jams! What can any of you tell me about the Blue Ocean Music Hall? I'm guessing we'll have to venture a bit north to find a hotel worth staying at after?

I didn’t know who this guy was until I saw Gary Clark jr with a 3-p90 Flying V and started sniffing around to see if it was a real thing or a one off that Gibson made for him.
Now I own a popa chubs sig V, and had to retroactively go figure out who he was.
The guitar is more or less a unicorn, a super small run.

I won’t be there, but I hope you enjoy yourselves.
I’m actually stunned to see this topic surface here. I had no idea, even in the blues world, that people knew this guy at all.

I was turned on to Popa Chubs a little while ago. Honestly, I'm more into the cover jams he does than most of his original blues stuff. My buddy is a big fan and has been dying to see him. His girlfriend set everything up and I jumped on the chance. Either way, it'll be a good time fo' sho'.

Said guitar. I’d like to know if he uses it live or not. I gather he’s really a strat guy from my limited exposure.

Saw Tool last weekend. You're in for a good show.

I will admit I am not a fan of the new album and I'm hoping to hear mostly vintage TOOL. Maybe the new stuff will grow on me but so far it's a no go.

I think you'll be happy with the setlist. Give Pneuma a few listens before the show. That's the track that sold me on the new record.

Will do, thanks. Saw Halestorm open for godsmack last night, I was impressed by the drummer. Then Shannon Larkin came out and just laid down the devastation. One of the nastiest rock drummers out there.

The fat man put on an astounding show. Great venue too considering the location.

Ill be seeing the Boston Tool show. Not wild about the venue, but so it goes. Have been seeing them live since 96-97, I think.

Very much looking forward to Russian Circles this Thursday at the Sinclair. They never disappoint.
