Lol, assumptive much? I have three daughters, the oldest with a rare chromosome disorder called 18p-. Among her many challenges is transitioning outside of her daily routine, I'm very, very very, very very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very familiar with routines and their benefit.

For what it's worth, this thread I posted is an awesome example of how the hyper-vigilance required to raise a child with special needs so easily transforms to over-parenting/helicopter-parenting of my typically developing children, as previously mentioned one of whom has been having some sleeping difficulty recently. Definitely something I'm constantly trying to keep in check, sometimes one slips by the goalie though (that's what started all this in the first place right)!

By the way, great link Kurlon, all the info I needed.

It's never stupid to be cautious, but in this case all those products are pure snake oil.

If all the EM radiation around us poses a threat, we haven't been able to demonstrate it in any substantial manner. It simply lacks the energy to cause damage at the atomic level. That said, electronics can emit high-frequency sounds that adults are less sensitive to (probably unrelated though).

Could be a thousand reasons for your kid's sleep troubles, but a white noise machine or fan can help with sleep issues a LOT.

Isn't that the truth! She's 6, I've heard and read that around that age children begin to gain a new sense of themselves in relationship to the world and it can be a tumultuous time for them? Bah, who the hell knows...

I struggle with this one, white noise, night lights, melatonin (which we're using now with success, unfortunately this supplement comes with it's own set of warnings), etc... I don't want to insert the need for a lifelong "crutch", but, she had some really tough nights at the end of the summer and we all needed to find something that could help her, fingers crossed it's all relatively short-term.

BTW the biggest source of EMR is the sun. Probably best to wait till it goes down to try to sleep.

my bank hands out shielded credit card sleeves for free, I use them not so much for their shielding, but because they protect the magnetic strips from excessive wear in your wallet

Re: Protecting ourselves from electromagnetic radiation?

I grew up with my house about 150yds from high voltage power lines, the big ones, can hear them crackling when it snows, etc. Lived there from when I was 2 up through 18. I don't think I have any health issues from it. People around there said we were all doomed from the EMR, not sure if that is the case or not. Maybe that was far enough away not to have any lingering effects?

The fluoridated water has really gotten to your head. Try staring at the microwave for a bit to even it out.

Ever try to have a conversation with a chemtrails nutter? There's no appropriate derogatory term I can use to describe their level of stupid.

Our forefathers didn't have to put up with Chemtrails. I don't remember ever hearing them have to do Radon abatement measures either. It's all really strange...
