Most 'real' breeders will name 'em before you get a chance to. That's not to say that YOU can't call him what you want. We were lucky enough to find our Aussie before they regi'd a name with any one (the AKC means NOTHING to me). They were calling him something like Snowball, or some corny thing. But they liked our name for him so much (Mojo Santa) that they regi'd it with the coupla Aussie organizations they belong to under that name. With the breeder's name (Whimbrel) preceeding it (Whimbrel's Mojo Santa, or Mojo)...

One of the reasons she wanted me there to pick my pup out so soon was to get a name picked out before any papers were registered. She said in the past it's been easier for her and the new pup owners this way The middle name will have a name added to it, if i even choose a middle name (probably not)

It's gonna be an expensive little bugger by the time all is said and done

Hard to believe the last pup my sister and i both pitched in for a total cost of $25

She will be worth every penny and you know it!!!!

And I did not realize that most breeders register the AKC name prior to being named by the future family. Interesting.

I didn't say AKC. There's really no beni's to registering it with the AKC. Most breeders regi their dogs with breed specific organizations...

Heh, heh. Sure does! Cost of the dog, puppy shots (every two weeks for like, two months), vaccinations, innoculations, blah-blah-blah, doggy day care (I can only afford it once a week!), OB classes if you take that route, spay/neuter, FOOD, treats. I don't even dare add up what I've already spent on Mojo...

My boss offered to watch her all day so that would take care of daycare if i chose that route. I may do that for the first couple months, still not sure yet. I've got a fenced in large backyard and i'm not to worried about leaving her home alone outside once she's a fair size.

A bunch of names crossing my mind, i need to know by the middle of this week when i go there for another visit.
I think i'm going to name her Throttle

Day care isn't necessarily for 'day care'. I do it just as much for the socialization so he'll get along well with other dogs. I also do it so if I ever board him somewhere he'll be used to not seeing me for a short period...

    Throttle is an awesome name!
