    Radar/Laser Detector?

    Which one? Beltronics? Whistler? Cobra?

Something to detect all types of laser, radar, etc. and a unit that is undetectable. 360 degrees range. The whole nine yard, within reasonable price. Thanks.

    Radar/Laser Detector?

The V1 is supposedly the best...I didn't want to spend as much, and got this one. Think I paid around $250 on Ebay though(brand new). Had it about a year, and it's been great. In one instance, I picked up a laser gun I was approaching over a mile away.

    Escort 9500....awesome.

Valentine is good too....but the new Escort has some really cool features including built in GPS so you can save Traps and False Alerts into memory...

    Radar/Laser Detector?

got my valentine on ebay as well. be sure to look for the serial number on the valentine and enter it into the valentine website and it will tell you what updates are needed for it. luckily mine was the most up to date version at the time and that was 4-5 yrs ago. havnt updated it yet, but hasnt failed me either. valentine hands down the best ive ever had. had an escort before. thats not bad either.

Don't waste money on Cobra or Whistler...
Bel rx65 and Escort 8500 are both good and are essentially the same unit if you wanted one and found a better deal on the other.
Valentine and the new Escort 9500 are probably the best, but remember nothing saves you from "instant on" if you don't have a "rabbit" (fast car in front of you) and basically, even with a rabbit, you have to get pretty lucky to be alerted of a laser trap. Make sure you mount it properly and don't trust it. It will likely save your ass every now and then (mine does), but it can't be trusted all the time.

On I-89 keep it just shy of 80 and they won't even blink. Chances are you'll be in the flow if not getting passed. Only places to slow to lower 70's is Exit 6 (Barre) northbound, Exit 11 (Richmond), and Exits 13 thru 15 (Burlington - Colchester). I've had all sorts of detectors, but have had the best record running without one.

Between exits 13 and 15 (Burlington/Colchester) the speed limit drops to 55, and you'd be well advised to keep your speed below 65 because that section is pretty heavily patrolled due to a high accident rate. And the cops there are less likely to cut you a break than the ones out in the middle of nowhere.

+1 on the Valentine One. Its best feature is that it's directional and will tell you where the radar is coming from, and also how many radar signals there are.

I have had a escort 8500 for 5 years saves the bike a ticket a year.

There are REAL laser jammers but they cost like 600 for front and back I think

    Radar/Laser Detector?

Yeah I don't slow down much if I'm just under 80mph. I do I-91 North going to Canada many times a year and I sometimes speed up nearly 100MPH in some parts of VT where there is literally no one around. Slow down when getting close to towns, highway exits/entries but otherwise, I fly, specially if I'm playing fish with a fast bait (rabbit). I gotta slow down tho, one of my Michelin didn't like the speed once and gave up on me, luckily a fast leak and not an instant tire busted, so it gave me time to slow down and stop on the side of the road. Could have sent me flying in the decor real fast tho. Reality check called in.

    Radar/Laser Detector?

The V1 is good but not good enough to justify the $100 premium over the Escort 8500 and Bel RX-65 which both have better Ka performance.

I've never used the Escort 9500 but considering that Escort doesn't release crap, it should work very well too.

Don't waste your money on Cobra and Whistler. They are not in the same performance league as the V1, Escort, and Bel models.

I have the Escort 8500 on my bike and the 9500 in the car. Both are great. Don't bother with the 'Blue' led lights if given a choice. Absolutly no benefit other than whatever 'cool' factor you atribute to blue leds. (Of course, of you are into cool blue leds and money is no object then have at it!!!)

    Radar/Laser Detector?

Got my V1 for $150 from Highsider.

It's not the latest version & it'd cost me 180 bucks to upgrade to the latest model, but even the Valentine website said it's not worth spending that money since it's still better than 95% of the detectors on the market.

    Radar/Laser Detector?

I have a Cobra before I got my Valentine, they are a very good detector looking in front of you, what counts most, the range IMHO was better than my V-1 forward , but nothing behind you

it got wet, never worked agan, I replaced it with a V-1, got that wet several times, after it dries, works good as new

I have mild colorblindness to red and green and I found the red version hard to see in bright light. I returned it for the blue which is much easier on the eyes.
