You’re supposed to list yourself last when listing yourself among multiple people.

“I” is used when you are the subject.
“Me” is used when you are the object.

    Singular:
    I rode the motorcycle.
    The motorcycle rode me.

    Plural:
My uncle and I rode the motorcycles.
The motorcycles rode my uncle and me.

Source: I took English class in elementary school.

That may be true, but if he's paid for the car -- no matter what happened to the money he gave the "dealer" -- how do you think he will react?

This is where this entire clusterfuck gets interesting.

The car is stolen and not stolen at the same time.

    It's the Schrödinger's Car.

Who the hell finds the thief of property, tracks down the property but then starts negotiating with the thief for the reparations and payments instead of just getting the property back?

Can we please get updates here? You can’t start a thread like this then disappear. It’s not ok towards your fans.

Re: How to go about reporting a stolen car with a twist

I have gotten the initial amount promised in my bank and all is well. He has more to give to me to bring me up closer to the amount i have into the car. I should be getting that soon. The remainder is still being worked out as i want to do it in person so i am flying to the states next week to meet with him back in CT/MA to go over everything. I am not sure if i can or want the car back but he proposed it as an option to reduce his debt to me. I havent said anything about again and will see how it plays out.
Just to be clear, I am not flying back to the states just for this. I need to register and insure the GT500 i bought and tuck it away into storage in Virginia and i had planned the trip before finding him. Thats why i posted the thread in the first place, it was a good time to tie up loose ends and reporting the car as stolen in person to whomever was first on my list of things to take care of. This car thing has been dragging me down for months and i needed it to end. I got lucky that he reads this forum but i never thought that was even a possibility. I didnt even know he was a member here but i did know he was on BORN. I would have posted there if it was still active but not with the intention of finding him but to get more localized advise.

I always wanted money for the car thats why it was on consignment. I did not really want to keep the car. If it was stolen from my driveway and i was not selling it then that would be different. I really have no interest in getting the car back at this point as long as i get money. He offered getting the car back as a way of reducing his debt to me which i said i would consider but he has already given me a large amount of cash that would be in addition to the car IF he could get it back and depending on its state.
I assume the car has been stripped and parted but he says otherwise. I am really not interested in finding out more unless it is back in his possession and we can start working on a deal. Until then i am fine getting cold hard cash.

I would be pissed for sure but then again i would have made sure this couldnt happen in the first place. Buying a car from someone, while paying installments, and not getting the title until its paid in full is not how i would do a deal. I could see if it was a short term loan but he is on a 3 year pay back plan with the dealer. At best thats him having a car in garage for 3 years that he can do absolutely nothing with, at worst that is him having the car that he put a deposit down on and then skipped payments on which is what he did. If the dealer wants to repo it which is his right, i think, then he can.

I have no idea what his screen name is here and I can't remember what it was on BORN. He had a green blinged out zx7 though. That was 7 or 8 years ago. No idea what he is on now.

It seems to me that he has now purchased the car. You ought to sign the title over to him.
