if you'ere as aggressive as you say you are don't let them put you in anything lower than a 9 flex index, you'll be disappointing. To be honest before you even go to a ski shop you should first do a little research on your foot size and what company boot has the right form for your foot then find a good shop that carries those brands and start there.

For instance, I have sorta wide feet but a really big instep on the top of my foot.

Lange boots are extremely narrow and i cant even squeeze my foot in a boot 1 size too big for me. On the other hand, I ride in a Salomon boot right now which is the right size and still needed custom foot beds and a little manipulation on the right foot boot to fit perfect.

I never raced but from what I gather real racing boots come as plugs and are custom molded/fitted every time

Mine are 120’s now. I would be searching for something 120-140. Anyway as far as foot shape and all that I’m not quite sure. They are pretty normal but large 12/13 regular shoes. That’s why I need a fitter, to get me in the right set instead of a set that would do.

To my knowledge all ski boots use European lasts and sizes. Europeans typically have narrower forefeet than North Americans. But the sizing can work to your advantage if it happens to fit length better. I wear 12 in almost everything, but in Ski and motorcycle boots they’ve been 45, 46 or 47.

Not sure what brands are wider, narrower, or have more adjustment.

Europeans typically must be pencil necked geeks, based on ski boot sizes and European motorcycle leathers sizing.

Came up this morning and made some runs at Sunapee when it looked like the sun was coming out. But it was never more than a white ball. Should have used clear goggles: the yellow time made it seem dark

Conditions were what you’d expect, groomed cover with an occasional icy spot. Mostly students and retirees: Weds is a little busier because 2 for 1. Knocked off at 3:10.

Probably going to take my daughter someplace in VT next week for a change of pace. Headed for Mont Tremblant with the family Feb 19.

Was going to go last weekend with a friend, two days lift passes and lodging for a couple nights.

Priced out flying to Miami Beach for the weekend, including two nights in a hotel right on the water.

    Miami was cheaper.

Then he got the flu so no fun was to be had.

Why the hell is skiing so expensive?

Man, I wish I was hitting a bigger mountain tomorrow, but I'm stuck hitting Crotched with a bud who has to fly out of Manchester in the early PM. The kids will probably track up all the freshness tonight but the corduroy ought to be awesome tomorrow. Mt. Snow is going to be freakin awesome!

Went to Sunapee for a few hours. 10” new. Packed powder and about 50% sun earlier, it’s cleared now.

Do you think the far distant snowy peak is Mount Washington?

The bearing is roughly 25°. Mount Washington would be just about 100 miles away. I’m thinking it might be Mount Lafayette and the ridgeline South as the bearing seems closer and the distance is probably 75 miles or so.

Mt. Snow on Friday was still sweet. Almost no ice at first chair and even all day, except on the steepest diamonds and north face.

I forgot to post a review of Mt Snow from last Thursday, probably because I was asleep after beating my legs into submission on the snowboard! Excellent conditions, about 8” fresh over a very good base. Untracked lines all over the place, uncrowded, and weather much better than forecast.

Too bad they probably got nailed with rain over the weekend...

    Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck Mt. Snow.

At least until I get a formal apology for calling the cops on me and pressing charges for trying to get rid of an extra pair of lift tickets.

We cancelled reservations at Mont Tremblant due to midweek rain.

Going to SugarBush tomorrow, then assess. Tuesday, Wednesday and possibly Thursday look grim.
