Ha ha all my ski friends, myself included, are pissed at this season so far. Glad you have a better outlook. Definitely easier to pull a kid around on skis.

Definitely look at a pass if you plan on going more than 5 or so times next year. Everyone is following Vails model it seems. Let me know if you make it to Killington I'm there or Sunday river most of this season.

Anyone have a snowboard suitable for a petit female beginner they'd be willing to part with for a nominal fee?

... and maybe a slightly less petite male intermediate?

Ask Amanda about her old board. It's a big ole piece of plywood but she may part with it... Or I have to make a bench out of it.

I have a couple boards. Have to get rid of them as I can't do it anymore with my knee. I'll make you a sweet deal.

No clue what this one is worth. Bought it from Chris Hall years ago and rode it a few times.

Got this one for free years ago when a friend of a friend moved. I'd pass it on for the same as it is a little dinged up. It is bigger than the other one but I didn't see a size listed.

I also have 5 pair of boots...so I might have something that fits.

Nice stick! For general cruising rocker makes everything a bit easier and more forgiving. You'd be surprised how little difference you feel until you are trying to carve at 55 in the really firm stuff. In any powder, it;s night and day better.

This is how snowboarding made skiing better. Picket fences until boards came on the market. Since then skis have become so more varied and dynamic. Ripsticks now are doing more camber on the inside edge and more rocker on the outside edge. It's such a fun and expensive time in the sport.

with the shit season i've only been out on it once helping the boys but wow, very forgiving indeed! think i'm really going to enjoy it ... upgraded my boots and bindings right before COVID and never got a chance to test, whole kit feels real good. hope we see a change in weather soon.

Will drop you a line for sure, I expect Killington is in the cards. I expect we’ll do an Epic pass next year, the lessons are deeply discounted for pass holders. Makes me sad for not thinking of getting the boy started on this before the season started.

I think we’re going to go to Mount Snow next Saturday. With all of my Hilton points the Hampton Inn, Brattleboro is a good deal. We drive up the night before, get a good nights sleep, and can hit the mountain in the morning. Leaving from home it’s a 3+ hour drive. Mount Snow is the closest to Brattleboro so we’ll jump in that and get Liam his second lesson quickly.

I have 2 boards; Burton Custom X and a Flying V. I find I choose the V on basically any surface that isn’t perfect corduroy.

Ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffuck Mt Snow. They tried to prosecute me after I was "caught" trying to give a pair of lift tickets away to people as they came in from the parking lot. They called the cops, the police chief came down and gave me a court date. Two or three months (and three lawyer consultations) later, I get word from the lawyer I hired that the District Attorney told Brattleboro PD they could go pound sand.

Silver lining is that they didn't snip my lift pass so I still skied that day, but it I'll never give Mt. Snow another dime of my money.

I haven't been in the position where I had to. We paid for 8 lift tickets and two guys couldn't make it. Doesn't happen often. And what would you do in that position, throw em in the trash? I was literally looking for families w/ kids.

The whole thing was so fuckin dumb. Giant waste of everyone's time. Screw that place, and their condescending attitude about the whole thing.

Ah that is completely different. I misunderstood, thought you were handing off tickets which had been used. Sucks they did that.

I’d like to point out my previous comment would have been hilarious if the original interpretation were correct.

    Re: Ski/Snowboard 2021/22 Season

Snow is the most convenient mountain to a Hilton property. I’ve never been a huge fan of it, usually a pretty icy hill even by New England standards. That said, right now it’s all about getting Liam up and running properly on skis. They have a good learn to ski program and learner area and their cost for whatever reason is nearly half that of Killington and Okemo. Dad getting to ride his board is just an added bonus.

It's certainly a tough choice on where you're gonna go and what option works best. Killington is brutal on price as POWDR is having them follow the pass revenue model but I can dig up a half off for ya most likely.

Anyone ever do the Burnt Mountain SnowCat skiing on the west side of SugarLoaf?

I'm going to be in SugarLoaf for 6 days later this winter and just curious how gnarly the terrain is over there. I guess it's all logging roads glades and areas where they have hand cut trails.

There wont be any skiers with me who have the skills to come with me so I may try to friend someone or would be going solo

Have I ever no. Do I want to, yes. If this season plays nice it'd definitely be something I'd head up for if you can't find a friend.

I don't have anything for you but I do want to note that you should make sure to get the appropriate length. For a petite female, I would think a board length in the 130s or even shorter depending on height. For me, 5'8", I stick to 155 and below.

I have a Palmer Burn 157 (good shape) and a couple pair of bindings (ride LX and Flow NX) that I don’t use any more and would part with dirt cheap. Pm me if interested.

At Sunday River now. Damn coast stole the snow, at least it's snowing and beautiful. But just like all my exes, could use a few more inches.
