    sleep advice?

I'd like to hear SERIOUS remedies. I'm in your boat, Rach. I'm only good for 5 or 6 hours a night. But that's not counting the 2 or 3 times I wake up and can't crash...

Illicit drugs haven't helped. Nyquil helps sometimes. There's alcohol, but I always wake with a hangover...

    sleep advice?

I wake up 5+ times a night. 5 is a VERY good night's sleep for me...it's usually a lot more than that.

    sleep advice?

yeah i used nyquil when i was sick with the flu - worked great. but now im finding even if i dont remember dreaming i toss and turn a lot waking up in the morning tired and completely unrested. and the times i do remember dreaming theyre all horrible dreams and i cant fall asleep after i wake up from those anyway.
i use to run a couple miles every night but now with all those sickos out there i dont trust running on the roads alone, dont have a treadmill and dont have the money for a membership and am too lazy to go to one anyway most likely lol
id almost consider taking tylenol pm but i worry that id take too much or too late and not wake up easily in the morning.

Doesn't work for me. I'm too high strung. When I do ANY kinda physical activities, it just gets me going. I have trouble winding down afterwards...

im that way sometimes... cant calm down. maybe you need to go do something calming for a while - sit down, read a book, do nothing?

    sleep advice?

I know you don't smoke, Rach. But sometimes that works really good if you get good & baked...

When I'm to the point that I REALLY need to sleep, I'll get good and toasted after the kids go to bed. Then I just kick back on the couch and tell Cheryl to leave me if I crash. Sometimes it works good, other times not. But it's been the most reliable for me so far...

    sleep advice?

I'd work out - I have no problem with that. the problem with that lies with the fact of no means to do so. And I could deal with not getting completely restful nights sleep if I'd just stop dreaming so damn much.

    sleep advice?

    I guess everyone is different.

I didn't mean exercise before bed. That would keep me awake. Lunchtime, morning, or afternoon works though.

If I or too much I stay up all night now, which is a real bummer. It kind of ruins the night. It's like I can't fall asleep till the stuff is out of my system.

Using the computer, video games, etc.. for too long at night makes me unable to sleep as well. (I mostly feel like using the computer too much just makes one sick overall... too bad for me)

    sleep advice?

    Rach-

    still having this problem?

if so, I've got a couple of suggestions. I've had sleep problems all my adult life... for years, never more than 4-5 hr at a whack. for me, tired wasn't the problem (so exercise didn't help)... it was turning off my racing brain...

also, as it turned out, I had a sleep disorder-- RBD-- which was contributing to the mess... and I'd always thought I was just tossing & turning...

so... you might wanna check w/ a doc, describe the symptoms, mebbe prescribe some testing. in the meantime, I found it helpful to stop doing things "mentally stimulating" just before bed. I had to stay off the computer, stay away from TV, etc... anything that required me to fire up the ole grey cells. had to steer clear of anything w/ caffeine in it after about 6 o'clock, if I wanted to be unconscious before 1 AM.

    hope this helps some...

    sleep advice?

haha well considering i dont have ins i cant go see a doc. and the other problem to your sug is that i tend to fall asleep to the tv... sometimes too much silence causes me to not be able to fall asleep as quick...though im sure falling asleep to noises in my room doesnt help either when it comes to the dreams i have.
try the one i had last nite - i described it to josh... really bizare...i wont go thru all of it however it involved me and my friend being scared for our lives, i had to kill a dog that was attacking us, and then we were constantly being attacked and hurt.... knives, choking o yeah great dream to have woke up in with my heart pounding
stupid brain doesnt shut off i hate that!!!

    sleep advice?

You guys havin' 4-5 hours at a whack have it made! I wake up once an hour on a normal night. I don't mean wake up and not totally wake up and just roll around, I mean wake up, look around, realize that I've woken up, and get pissed off that I sleep so poorly.

I suppose this could have something to do with my poor attitude/tolerance towards the world.

I put a fan on, thats it.... Ceiling fan, one of those little 6 inch fans works great for me on my nightstand. I think it's just the constant boring noise that comes from the thing, kinda like being a passenger in a car.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    haven't found anything sure-fire...

even the sleeping pills they'd give me in the hospital were only good for 4 hours or so.
