I'm looking at the falken wildpeak a/t tires for my Fj cruiser. I have nitto terra a/t now but need to replace before the snow.

The brand falken has been around for some time. I believe these at3w tires are relatively new. All the review's I have seen, people love them. They are definitely on my short list.

I can't speak to the quality of their snow tires, but Falken have been around for ages and are (very) popular overall in the Japanese market.

Either that or go ahead and explain to all of us the multiplicative effects of adding weight to a rotational unsprung object. Don’t forget to start your sentence with “well actually.”

I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
I put Yokohama Geolander A/T G015 on the wife's SUV before last winter. They did really well, but the truck goes like a tank anyway so tough to tell how they are really. But they are quiet on the highway and seem to handle pretty well, again, like testing mud boots on a pig but they do ok.

Just installed the falken a/t . First impression, they look awesome.

Was at the Nokian dealer this week. Here’s the tread of the WRG3, Nokian’s “All Weather” Tire. It has. UTQG treadwear rating, but also passes the Severe Snow test. Great choice if you can only have one tire. A lot of people in modest snow areas that can get big storms use them as Performance Winters, or dedicated snows that work better on dry and wet roads.
Nokian molds the tread depth right into the tread on a lot of their tires. Cool.

Wife got a "new" vehicle and now im trying to figure out a plan. Ive got a set of 16" wheels in the garage from her previous car that will but the tires that are on them are way too small.
Her car has 18s on it
18s are tough to find used and more expensive new. I also dont want to switch tires. Id rather switch wheels.
I have 16s and im pretty sure they will clear the calipers but tires in the proper size have proven to be sparse so far.
I can find 17s in proper tire size more readily but cant find any decent used wheels for a fair price.
Those wrg3 look like a great year round tire
2003 ZX7R
1995 916
its a Sorento.
OEM tire size is 235/60-18
i can do:
235/65-17
225/70-17
235/70-16
these sizes get me within 1% of OEM size
i have had luck in the past using a CL search engine like search tempest. just havent found anything yet. i got wheels and tires for my caliber for about 300. my wifes old car was a little more difficult so im pretty sure i bought a new set up for hers.
the lug pattern is fairly common (5x114/4.5), like i said i just cant seem to find 17" wheels at a decent price (with or without tires), or 16" tires in the size i need.
ive found that when it comes to CL searches for snow tires, you really need to get it done by thanksgiving otherwise choices get scarce or prices are too high.

They have a UTQG treadwear rating of 600. My Michelin Pilot Super Sports are 300.....
We had WRG2’s on several cars and the only downside was they got noisy as they wore out. Don’t have G3’s so perhaps they’re better.

Just picked up a complete set of 17" snow tires...........for free!
I have no idea what they are, I think Dunlops, but whatever the case someone apparently did not want to deal with plugging two nails so they tossed all 4 tires to the curb.
Free snows for the Subie!
Some guy walked out of his house around 9:45 this morning thinking, I know I just unloaded those damned tires here somewhere....
