    Snowboard Shit

Im out of touch on the snow sports side. Going to be doing some snowboarding over christmas. My board is old, but in good shape, but my boots and bindings are pretty much toast. Whats the new hotness for a set up? Im only gonna be going 1 or maybe twice a year, for a week tops, so dont need top of the line, but dont want cold feet.

I'm not hip to all the fresh new kit but I spent some time on Craigslist last year and finagled a sweet setup for very short money. All barely used Burton gear from 3 different sellers: Clash board, Cartel bindings and Ozone boots. The Ozones are insanely light and keep my feet plenty warm. Very, very, very happy with the setup. I've always had good luck with Burton stuff, just avoid the entry-level/budget stuff and go for midrange/used and get sweet gear for very cheap.

If you're flying from ATX to ride once or twice, rent.

    Re: Snowboard Shit

there are a lot of different board geometries these days... camber, rocker, v rocker, hybrid, reverse this and that... i ended up trying several before really jiving with one of them. I'd suggest demoing nicer stuff from a shop. then i bought on backcountry.com for some really great discounts especially if you could wait until spring.

I ended up with a lib tech t rice pro hp... rocker in the middle and camber under the feet. super quick on transition but when you get onto edge and lean into it you can carve incredibly hard. great all mountain board and on the stiff side... also i like stiff bindings and boots. my setup is

lib tech t rice pro hp
    burton diode bindings
    thirtytwo TM2 boots
