The Yuasa YTX14-BS on the Yamaha Phazer wouldn’t crank. It did recharge successfully. Yuasa puts date codes on their batteries so the “new” battery the BPO sold it with in 2014 - 120606E3 - is actually a build date of June 6, 2012.

Going to try and find a YTX14H-BS, with 240 CCA instead of 200. Five years is good service but don’t think we can rely on it anymore.

They work well in extreme cold? Don’t think the Phazer has much of any draw when off.

What brand? EarthX has a LiFe snowmobile battery but it’s over $200.

    Re: Snowmobilers

Not sure how long we are keeping the sled, so we wound up buying a Yuasa KTX14H-BS. This is the higher CCA model compared to the KTX14-BS that was in it. Paid $71.56 on eBay from a seller called OEMCycles and it arrived in two days.

Yuasa has a great technical manual online. http://www.yuasabatteries.com/pdfs/TechManual_2014.pdf
