Sooo, how bout your opinion on bumpers

In a perfect world, I'd go for a frame cut bumper, better approach angle and better looks.

Unfortunately, you need a $1700 intercooler to make the $2000 bumper work, no lights included.

Im not a huge fan of the chunky style front that is popular, but I have a lead on a couple.

Now, I can score just the front, with just a pair of 10" lights in the corners for 1300 shipped, which would be like 2500 new.

BUT, theres another for sale that is Front and rear bumpers, and INCLUDES a $1700 40" bar on the front, the 10" corners, then the rear bumper with 10" corners and cubes in the middle.

Now, I can swing the 1300 for the front bumper, and be bummed the 40" bar isnt included.

Add the 1700 40" bar and it is at the $3k that the other setup costs.

$3k is out of budget by a long shot, but this is an $8k setup with the lights, it is a CRAZY good deal.

I keep talking myself into the cheap front setup, but man... I could get a whole rear+ more lights, for the cost of the big bar added to the 1300 setup.

Id really like some lights to fill out my upfitter switches, and I would like to look a little more unique now that there are a few more gen 2 raptors running around.

First world problems I know, but I wanted some advice.

FWIW, I either go for the full shebang or nothing at all, especially if I can justify some sort of deal. Seems like you're really excited about the front & rear combo deal, so just do it and yell YOLO.

Im a sucker for a good deal. I wasn't looking for bumpers, but found them.

I would not go out and buy a new $2k bumper and $3k worth of lights.

I mean, that front and rear setup would literally be $3500 for the rear and $4500 for the front! and its only $k in in like new condition!

I think if that front setup included the 40" bar Id just do that.

$1,300 is a lot more reasonable for a splurge than $3k....

Are you going to do a winch or not? With the nature of a lot of the wheeling in New England, I wouldn't be doing anything serious without one. A winch can help you fill some upfitter switches too.

TONS of bumper choices of course. I did some looking at fabricators I thought well of when I was still into Jeeps, none of them are really doing anything for Raptors so I don't really have anything specific to recommend. I will say that most of us who were fairly serious about off-roading thought a bunch of light bars were a bit silly. I ran a pair of Rigid Dually's mounted either side of the bottom of the windshield plus a set of rock lights in the wheel wells and that was more than enough for night riding.

Another good, functional way to fill up your upfitter switches is to add an onboard air compressor. Couple that with a pair of 5 gal. tanks and you can air your tires back up in a hurry when you get ready to go back on pavement. You can also tap into the air system for a 150 dB train horn for the folks who like camping in the left lane.

    What he said.

Oooor you can get one of those wrap over guards like on the Dodge Rams in 2 Fast 2 Furious? But that require green ground effects.

Nah, no winch, its more rocky where I go, I try to stay out of the mud as it just makes a mess.

The lights are all Baja Designs and Rigid, high quality stuff.

And luckily, all but the big 40" bar are all integrated into the bumpers.

So, I think you can see the deal that 2 bumpers with all the lighting for $3k is!

It's the rocks that'll make you really need the winch. I was always in the habit of driving around mud puddles, that was a lesson I had to learn exactly once.

Anyway, if you can get a good deal, take the deal. Good bumpers are expensive. You should definitely add an OBA setup though. So useful.

The lights are a bit extra for my taste, but a deal is a deal. I'd go for it.

Use light bar use on public roads still illegal? I thought I always saw that back when I used to look at Jeep mods in like 2011 (not looking at any accessories for the current one one), but I see bars lit up a lot on roads.

Is it a question if whether they are “flood” or “spot”?

Is this Raptor stock ride height?

Light bars are illegal to use on roads. Some states/jurisdictions also disallow mounted auxiliary lights without covers from roads, although I'm not sure that applies in our neck of the woods.

Lightbar is not legal on road and I wouldnt use it on road. All the lights are a mix of flood and spot I believe. I would probably use the corner rock lights if it was really snowy or something.

Raptor is raised 2.25" up front and 1" in the rear.

I have! They are pretty sweet.

The raptor has indivudual switches already wired out to pigtails, so you can put the center on one switch and the amber on another switch!

Why uneven? Doesn’t that raise the angle of your headlights out of factory specs... thus being a bright middle finger to everyone else?

Usually the back is higher than the front stock. This sounds like a leveling kit which makes them even.

This exactly. If anything its a little nose down. At 1.5" in the front it was nose down, then I went to the 2.25" and it was nice and level. Then I added the rear deavers with +1 and it made it nose down again. I kinda wish I went with the normal deavers but I appreciate the extra inch in the rear when I throw my sled in the bed and shit.

Sooo, how bout your opinion on bumpers-ceb6cil-jpg

And even then, I brought it to the dealer to get the headlights adjusted (something I really could have done myself, but I wanted it to factory spec so I didnt blind people) and they found my headlight adjusters were nonfunctional, ended up replacing both headlights under warranty to the tune of $2,500

And then after it all I had to adjust my headlights myself like 3 more times to get it right though

Call me rain man but I feel like whatever angle it was outta factory was purposeful and leveling it out would cast the beam further and more direct toward oncoming traffic.
