    Depends on what truck?

I have a Peragon on my F150 and so far, very happy with it. 90 minute one man install, and with the tailgate seal kit, it stays completely dry on the inside even in heavy rains. It's accordion style so folds up near the cab to a pretty small profile.

Bakflip makes a nice product; I have the revolver x2, no complaints but they are spendy.

I had a G2 by Bakflip on my old Ram, it was a nice hard cover.

If you haven't made a decision yet, I'll add the suggestion of looking into the Extang Trifecta.
Because I frequently transport larger items, being able to remove or reinstall the cover in a couple minutes has been a very convenient one-person job. No hardware or modifications needed to my truck.

Agree with the Extang. Had one on my truck for 2 years now and use/ remove it quite frequently. Comes off easily when needed and keeps my bed about 95% dry during heavy rain.

All my buddies have pickups and I've seen the Access, Gator and Truxedo brands all stand up to a good amount of use. Can't think of anyone who's had real problems.

I have the Backflip on my RAM, love it. Gets a couple drops of water in near the tailgate but that is about it. And the only way to keep water out of there is to get one that covers the top of the gate and that is a pain in the ass.

I went ahead and ordered the Access. Many of these are not yet available for the Ridgeline.

Another very solid vote for Access. My first one went through two 8 year stints across two trucks. I bought a new one for the Tundra.

Not feeling a $550-$800 price tag, I have a fiberglass snugtop on my 01 f150 that I got for $100 used on CL

I hate it...pita to take off as one person. I took it off 4 times in 2 weeks (move FZR600, ttr125, move a bed/table, pickup lawnmower and trash cans for units) and am fed up. It's staying off the truck and going on Craigslist

If you use the truck as a truck, then folding is the way to go...if it's just to hold golf clubs, then solid is okay

Here, I've found a bed cover closer to what you'd like to pay:

You just illustrated why you buy cheap and buy twice. As a general rule, good stuff costs good money. Ceteris Paribus.

Re: Best source and maker of pick-up bed cover?

OP has already purchased but another +1 for Access. loved the one i had on my Taco. took New England weather and abuse really well.

i've owned three Extang covers, worked fine, and one cheapo that sucked. the Access was the best i've ever had. roll-up style for all of them (dirt bike hauling).

They roll up so quick and easy and when you deploy it again it's nice and tight. Just a nice system and great quality. A bit spendy but....

On a side note. Access started out making covers for 18 wheelers and dump trucks.

Re: Best source and maker of pick-up bed cover?

It really wasn't that bad - $330 bucks, and they refunded $50 because some of the frame was scratched (it's covered when installed so I didn't really care - though I did touch it up). The Extang on my Taco was certainly heavier, but it was the snap-on type which was a giant pain.

    I don't have nice stuff

The cover also is a bit different scenario:
-brand new a hard cover is also $$700-800 ! At that price point a folding cover can also be had... selection is important
-I got the cover used on CL for $100...at that price I can always re-sell for $100...no harm no foul. I tend to buy bikes the same way...under market and just pay for maintenance then re-sell for what I bought it for. It's rare I buy something once at full price and keep it forever.

But for covers, yes...just spend the $350 (soft) or $640-850 (hard) for a folding cover if used for bikes/bed of truck
