First event with the van as it is: Palmer for TTD two days. Not camping in it as weather is perfect.

FYI the guy doing the 6.2 build said he hadn’t connected the oil pressure sensor, so that’s why it was flashing.

Thanks, running well also. Back burnered a bit due to boat projects.

Thinking I should add a L track right down the middle.

Look bigger than 118 to me. And if he flushes fluids every 6k miles he has spent more on fluids than the van itself.

Looks like a nice, basic rig though. like I said, prices out here are cray. He'll get 22k if not more.

Ha, if you were selling on the west coast....then maybeeeee.

My van got some love this weekend, and still needs a bit more.

    1) I have been having the intermittent CEL for glow plugs. I replaced the glow plug module with one of the new ones and all is well. I bought a kit that came with 5 glow plugs too and will probably start replacing those as I have time, but no realy need for glow plugs in this weather anyway.

    https://www.millionmilesprinter.com/...-glow-plug-kit

    2) My AC/Heat van was only working on high. Quick and easy fix.

    https://www.millionmilesprinter.com/...motor-resistor

    3) While I was on this website, I bought this and through it in the van.

    https://www.millionmilesprinter.com/...arts-kit-04-06

    4) Lastly, I've wanted carplay forever, but Paul's radio was nice so I didn't want to touch it. Since adding the Yakima backswing to my bike rack, the length of my van grew by about a foot, and I street park this thing. I decided I wanted a back-up camera, which made the decision to upgrade the head unit to a flip up screen. I knew I wanted pioneer so I wouldn't have to redo the harness, so I bought these:

    https://www.bestbuy.com/site/pioneer...?skuId=6328683
    https://www.bestbuy.com/site/pioneer...?skuId=4583927

Full disclosure, I still haven't installed the back-up camera. Ran out of time and needed better parts. However, I did wire it up to the radio. The one modification I needed to make to the harness was to tap into a reverse gear signal. I found the wire and was about to tap it, but decided I wanted it on a switch instead. I then went down the rabbit hole of trying to find a switch that fit in the dash blanks nicely, but failed. Instead, I put a cheap autozone temp switch just to have it wired so I could get my dash back together. If anyone has leads on a good switch I am all ears. It looks a bit cheesy with such a new unit in an old van, but can't beat the functionality.

Well that came out awesome. I really need to get a new headunit in my van, but haven't pulled the trigger because my old pioneer h.u. still has the ipod hookup in the back and my old beat to shit ipod still works on that thing. The aux input is toast though and not having that combined with no bluetooth option has resulted in me using a JBL speaker when i want to listen to something on my phone. A back up camera would be nice as well...

It just looks a bit out of place with the old dials and interior. The new Merc's fancy vents match better. I do miss steering controls...

Towed a roughly 3,200 lb boat down to Boston and topped up before and after. 18.9mpg. Way better than the Express or Outback.

Installed the GDE EcoTune. Partial throttle response is much improved, have to wait and see on mpg.

I’ve been running the GDE tune in my Jeep for 5 years. Great throttle response improvement, extra power and MPG!

If anything, my MPG got worse or stayed the same. Throttle response was a noticeable improvement though, I'll take the good with bad.

Finally finished all the insulation. Had the rear passenger side door, slider, and passenger door to do.

Removing the rear door handle had me stumped, but it’s simple: slide the door handle to the right, then lift up. That exposes two T30 bolts. Also drilled out the holes where the plastic fasteners were for 1/4-20 well nuts, so that when I make the plywood panels to replace the fiberboard they can be bolted in place.

    Re: Sprinter build thread

The “Meep Meep” Horjust wasn’t cutting it in Boston traffic. I’ve had good luck with Hella two-trumpet compressor horns. So today I installed one in the Sprinter.

After removing the grille and headlight, there was enough room for both trumpets and the compressor and relay. A thunderstorm interrupted my picture taking, but here’s the basic idea:

The compressor was mounted on the vertical support, below the horns. This had the added benefit of minimizing the tubing run.

Removed the stock horn, cut off the connector, checked polarity with a multimeter, and added spade connectors. Then ran patch wires to the relay. In future, if there’s any problem I can just install another diaphragm horn and plug it in.

The shorter trumpet was extended via a bracket. Both trumpets were pointed down, to clear the headlight and to drain water. They aren’t quite in line with the open area of the grille, but pretty close.

    Re: Sprinter build thread

When I mount the Okoume Plywood, I can cut the panels for the full wall, or cut them to fit the cutouts present for panels. That would leave some exposed metal. Not really a big deal since there’s L track there anyway. Any suggestion about one or the other?

The garage didn’t change the cabin air filter, decided to check on it. Think airflow will be improved....

Supposedly your are supposed to spray everything with disinfectant due to the risk of virus.

Duplicated the three door panels in 4mm Okoume Plywood. Cutting wall panels next, then sealing everything with Epoxy.

Finally got the template for the wheel well right.
