It looks small in some pictures, but it's still pretty huge.

I used to drive one of these vans years ago and they are fantastic vehicles. Good luck with the project!

So nice out today, I took the afternoon off to get my Triumph inspected. Took the long way. Got back before six, and the new KYB boingers for the front end were on the step. So, I went for it. She's all buttined up and riding MUUUUCH nicer than before. Just a tad more body roll, but light years quieter and more comfortable ride, even with the crappy vanco tires that are on there. Should be sweeeet when I get the BFG's

    I'm tired...

P.S. I'm buying ALL my used vehicles from the desert southwest. No torches, sawzalls, Dremels, impact wrenches or swearing required to change shocks that had clearly been there since new. One skinned knuckle, but that's cause I'm impatient.

I'm in Mexico at the moment and a lot of the vans/busses are Sprinters. Every one has a six speed manual.

    Re: Sprinter build thread

That would be cool, but honestly, I think I'm finally over the manual transmission thing. In a vehicle like this, I just want to sit there and churn out the miles. No need to stir the puddin bowl.

Nope, but I found a great solution. Vocational school will repair dents and paint it for just the cost of materials!

    Re: Sprinter build thread

That is the $460 question. I can have two cushions made to my spec with 2" of high density foam covered by 1" of memory foam all cut and upholstered for 460. Or I can try to bodge something together.

I may pay cause it is my couch as well and kinda ties the room together

OK, I got a hot tip that the thinnest foam mattress that IKEA sells is really comfy and easy to cut. I ordered one up and will trim it down and cut it in two. A co-worker offered to sew covers for me, so now I have to go fabric shopping

I got a friend of a friend who did the same thing, bought a sprinter, built a bunk bed into it with space for his bike underneath and took off for the midwest. Pretty cool vehicle

That's the one. I bought a full and will cut it to two custom sizes.
