Yah I suppose I should start to think about maybe washing my bike and at least getting prepared to ride it less over the winter...

Cleaning the chain when it's freezing cold is NOT fun.

Neither is changing the oil for that matter.

well... no, I'd want at least a pair of shorts, as well-- there's only so much shrinkage the boyz can take...

btw: PDX don't get that cold, kemosabe... nice warm river valley, 'n' all...

    1. yes, I will be able to ride in OR (original premise)
    2. there are many places in OR where the temp will remain moderate all winter.
    3. if I ride in one of those many places (Portland being among them), I could, if I wanted to, ride in a t-shirt
    4. ergo: I am able to ride in Oregon in the winter in a t-shirt.
    5. no assertion was made that I would be able to ride in ALL of OR... or even a locale w/in OR of your choosing.

technically, if there was a 1-block area where I could ride in a t-shirt-- and that 1-block area was within the OR state boundaries-- my original assertion would be true.

and... I won't hafta put up with all that is terribly, terribly wrong with FL.

But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.

Don't forget to snag some extra shear pins before you "really" work it.

    They're cheap - get 3-4, they don't go bad

    Heh, heh...crushed stone drive......EVERYTHING. I go through 3-5 a year...

Also a good idea to keep a can of TREATED gas around for the winter, just for the blower...
