Yes, but you're talking huge data and/or storage money to backup to a cloud continuously. That was my original idea as well. I discovered my video files were 80-116GB a day and that made the whole thing pointless cloud based storage. Some cameras you might be able to set up to just upload event files though. I wanted to store everything for a longer period of time so went with a large external hard drive.

The cards in these cams are pretty high data rate. They have to withstand temperature extremes and rewriting of data. We have a 20GB card and it is holding 2 hours and 18 minutes of video.
Had my daughter pull the plug as the last time she got in an accident, she drove home and it went into parking mode and after a couple of hours it overwrote the accident.

I don't need to check it out. It's a fact.
A person with 10 at fault incidents a year is more of a liability to the insurance than a person with 0.
This is why actuaries are 6 figure positions

Some companies are more forgiving to it or might even have a specific clause promising not to increase, but overall it's pretty uniform across the board that most will.

Just got a call from USAA. The impact bent so many panels they are totaling the car. Daughter unhurt, yay Subaru.
What do they use to value your vehicle? Nadaguides is much lower than KBB and that’s what they offered.
It’s a 2014 Outback 3.6R with the Special Appearance Package, which included literally every single option available and some special trim not on any other model.

So I didn't even realize it but dash cams are crazy now?
They have lane assist and voice control? Not saying I'd use those features but it's pretty nifty (lane assist might get annoying, not sure how it knows you want to change lanes and not just drifting. Does it listen to turn signal stalk/click?) Automatic recording with G forces sensor etc

Here is the Garmin dashcam

Lane assist on anything is one of the most annoying features ever.
Also many of the new cars require the seatbelt to be engaged for things like cruise control to work. Soooo annoying
I'd rather spend the money on video quality then gimmicks. Once initial config is all done I only need to format the card once a month. What do I need voice control for?
Drove a Subaru with the Eyesight system in it and it drove me insane. I ended up turning it all off. Having a dashcam do similar is pointless to me.
