Call Josh not "manly" for wanting a nice ride again while complaining about "attacks". Man you are super sensitive, except when dissing someone else.

The relevancy has to do with spending a reasonable amount of money for a vehicle that performs reasonably for the task at hand for the purchaser. What to you seems like a worthwhile purchase in your big hp high performance pickup is TWO non-base model equipped Ridgelines/Tacomas/Silverados/Sierras/etc.

Iíd rather have full time heat/fan, than doors that donít close when itís below 25 out like the f150 I drive. May or may not have something to do with the power locks and window jamming up in the passenger door. Itíll be getting towed to the dealer in the morning, as itís unsafe to drive. May as well see if they can fix the pulsating brakes and delayed shifts in the transmission as well.

Best I can tell these are actually "Aries Seat Defender Bench Seat Cover" and more like universal fit. Not necessarily fitted to the Silverado/Sierra bench. Which is maybe fine.
Cheaper to buy through GM though.

Oddly, when I had my last Saab I wanted roof racks. Found out the factory option was actually Thule racks. I could get them through the dealership for about 60% of going to a Thule distributor. Found that odd, but might be a distributor network thing.

So I had to do some maintenance on the wife's Armada this weekend. And while it is SUV and my Tundra is truck, I will say the Armada drives so much nicer than the Tundra. Going back to design vintage, they are both about the same age really. To do it again, I might seriously consider buying that Titan over the Tundra. 150k miles from now, that tune might be a little different, but I think during that 150k miles, I would have been more comfortable.

    Re: Let's talk trucks

After owing most major brands of trucks. From a Jeep Comanche, Dodge Dakota, Ram 1500, Chevy Silverado, 2500 Chevy, Toyota FJ and a Ford F150. Some where easier to work on then others. The Jeep was easy cause it was a basic truck 4 cylinder with 4 speed stick, no AC. But the Toyota was overall the best to work on ( had to replace the front drive shafts both sides.. ) The 2500 was a pain as everything is just bigger and have a whole set of 3/4 drive sockets and wrench's because of it. The Dodges where the most maintenance intensive but had the most mileage on them 164 and 170 when I had enough and traded them in. the location of the oil filter on the ford is the biggest draw back.. Brand preference is really only based what's available used and that is a good buy. Cant go wrong with any of the newer trucks theses days.

You're correct although that wasn't what I was talking about at the time. I got a bit jumbled shopping umpteen different trucks with umpteen different build options. The exact fit rear seat cover I was talking about is actually for the Colorado, do the build and price tool and you'll see it under the "Interior" tab, $345. Sadly it looks like they don't make it for the Silverado.

I just had the chance over the weekend to spend a couple of hours in a short box crew cab Colorado as a passenger. This was a fairly well optioned model and the interior was nice although a lot narrower than I was expecting. Ride quality was slightly firmer than a car but definitely not truck like. My only complaint was during my stint in the back seat, my head was barely rubbing the headliner which forced me to slump down a bit. I'm 6'1" so not exceedingly tall.

Anyone have any interest in the 2019 Ford Ranger? 2.3L EcoBoost w/ 10 speed auto. Assuming the answer is the same unless someone finally smartens up and offers an actual discount on one. I will say, if I were still urban living, I would probably be driving one of these "small" pickups now even without the discount.

If the manufacturers could come out with a true small truck that had reasonable interior space in it that didn't cost the same or more than their full sized variants it would probably sell like hotcakes.

The current issues being that their small truck offerings are not small, their interior space is used so terribly that it confines the occupants and their pricing is so out of whack that it makes very close to no sense to buy one.

Compare a Colorado/Canyon, current gen Tacoma, current gen tundra or even the new Ranger to your old Toyota as a good example of a small truck. All of the modern "small" truck options are significantly physically larger than your old Toyota was. Probably very close to what a full sized truck of the same vintage as your old Toyota was.

There is not a good option available of the small vehicle with just a few comfort features to take the place of the first gen Taco/S10 pickup that people would keep as a second vehicle to do the dump runs etc. Everything has to have every bell and whistle and be capable of towing a house in order to make the market.

Maybe I'm just the grumpy old man longing for the days of yesteryear...............

To go along with this latest annoyance with my GMC, I find the cab size lacking. 2 adults, 2 kids, a mastiff and a backpack. It was fucking JAMMED. Fortunately for the 3 in the back there are no heater vents to roast them and the trip was only an hour each way. Hopefully I'll get an early lease termination offer.

P.S. Spent the weekend in a yurt. Suddenly I can't tolerate gluten, find myself lusting for a Subaru Outback, and I traded in my Sabbath album collection for a copy of the Carpenters greatest hits.

It's a scary feeling when a truck you looked at a few years ago, and thought was huge, now feels small.

I used to look at Surburban and think they were whales. Now I look at them and think, yeah, I could fill that.

I've owned two Rangers. I'm not going to lie, I bought both because of price. As I recall I left the lot with my '03 4x4 Ranger for about 40% less than an equivalent Tacoma. At the time an F150 was about 60% more.

For me the Ranger was always about price.

Haha, I realized we relied on way too much during our normal day when we ( 2 adults, 1 kid, 1 dog) went on vacation for a week and filled a full size SUV to the brim and the run over half filled the boat. We Americans love our stuff....

are they really that bad? i have an 80 mile commute and getting nearly 30 mpg while having all that space is appealing. i guess my gripe if i look at the h6, based entirely on mpgs, i can get something "cooler" and more fun with the same mpgs.
