Not really, the roll bar makes it look like the bed is shorter than it is...which is already short. There's a rear roll pan and dual tips as well that look like trash.

That's the new norm it seems, trucks have to be Urbanized with a bit of an assault look to it.

29.9k listed. For the z71 package, LT2 midnight edition trim and accessories like trailer brake controller I found it to be a deal. Payments are equal to what I was paying when I bought a brand new accord... the value is exponentially higher here for me.

As far as tires, while I dig the look of these wranglers and they can likely handle anywhere I would be going (and snow from reviews), I think I'll be looking for something more highway savvy for sure once they're cooked.

^^ most likely the 5.3. The 6.2 was more for the LTZ and Denali trucks.

    Edit: beat me to it!

More than I'll ever need! Specs say this can reliably tow over 10-11k lbs... which is crazy. I wanted expansion capabilities but right now my 6x12 enclosed is 3k lbs GVWR and it can barely be felt when hauling. It's a nice thought to be able to load up two bikes and gear in the bed and haul the trailer with 2-3 bikes though when friends want to come along or someone needs a track transport.

I usually don't do a single thing to my cars as they are all getting from A to B and the bikes are where I like to mod. But I'm already looking at running boards, a bed cover for the winter, and possibly a pedal commander. My buddy swears he gets 2 mpg more in his Raptor in eco mode. But for now I'll be recovering from buying it and the expenses associated with NCBike this weekend.

The good news is I don't drive during the week, and we run errands in a Nissan versa on weekends. That was key with the gas price creep going on.

I thought it was like 9k lbs. But whatever. As you say, more than enough.
I have a 6x12 as well and it pretty much vanished behind the silverado. I never even bothered taking much care balancing the trailer either. Just toss everything in and go.

Access is the tonneau cover you want. They are slick.

So my 2018 Silverado is heading back into the shop with less than 26,000 miles for more misfiring issues. Last time the “coil packs” were loose. We will see what happens this time. Should have bought a Ram or Tundra.

Finally found a reason to really like the Tacoma. Seems it is now available in some of the TRD flavors (why so many?!) with the 4-door cab AND a manual transmission.
Apparently you cannot buy the MT on the lesser 4-cylinder trims now at all but only on the higher trim V6 flavors. MT => premium choice!

Yes, but you can't get it with the 6' bed. 5' is a non starter for me hauling stuff.

Eh, I haul anything including my sled with a 137" track in my 5.5' bed. Its never been an issue for me. Any bigger, put it in a trailer.

I thought the same thing and sacrificed the extra cab space for the bigger bed on the Tundra. Wish I had the bigger cab...

Random, but funny. Guy on garage journal posted this launch ramp fiasco video.

Another user went through the video and recorded the vehicles involved:

“Dodge Charger (WTF?), Silverado, Silverado, Silverado, Silverado, F150, Silverado, Silverado, Silverado, Silverado, F150, Silverado, Silverado, Silverado, Silverado, F150, OLD CONVERSION VAN!, Ford Ranger, Silverado, Silverado, Silverado, Silverado, F150, Silverado, Silverado, Silverado, Silverado, F150, Silverado, Silverado, Silverado, Silverado, F150, NissantTitan, BMW X5.”

    Silverado 24, F150 5, Other 5.

Don’t know about Missouri lakes, but around here the tidal swing is 10’ so ramps are long, steep and slippery. Only saw one “sinker” last season, mid-sized pickup (Frontier or Tacoma) being winched in.

When I was a kid entertainment sometimes consisted of hanging out at the local boat launch and people watching. The number of people who forgot to put the plug in was staggering and the mad scramble after was pure hilarity.

Also the body count seems to offer a clear solution.........Sierra is the answer

I've done the plug thing at least once. Once so bad we had to pull the boat back out, drain it and relaunch. We've never had a boat with an on-board sump pump.. unless you count one of those hand pumps.

I think just about everyone does it once. Learned to keep the plug with the ignition key after almost playing submarine once.

    Re: Let's talk trucks

There was a recall quite some time ago on chebby trucks for the rear ABS sensor. Seems it would fail and if you dunked it while launching the truck the ABS thought the rears were locked up and go into anti-lock mode giving almost no brakes and peoples' trucks were getting sucked into the abyss. That was a while ago though, most of the GM's in this video were newer than that.

My last boat had three drain plugs. The first spring with it, I put in two and thought I had a spare, forgot about the third placement. After launching, in about a half hour water was bubbling up through the ski locker, I remembered pretty quickly about the drain plug.

    AFM issue?
My 2015 had a misfire and it ended up being a failed AFM lifter and scored the cam also.
$4600 for everything ( Warranty thank God)
Since then I install the range disabling to keep it in V-8 mode
