    Re: Let's talk trucks

Pulled the trigger on this yesterday. Local dealer stock. I was looking used, but seems like everyone was within 6k of brand new, for 45k miles. That's 10 years of commuting for my wife. Limited double cab. Led headlights and fogs, heated leather seats, remote start, carplay, 20" wheels. Seems pretty nice. Picking it up Thursday. I just want something nice and reliable. I know the gas mileage isn't great, but that doesn't matter much. The f-150 and sierra do have some newer tech, but I worry about the longevity. You would think Toyota figured out their corrosion issues after that expensive learning experience. Frame looks well coated. Body panels are galvanized steel, and exhaust is SS. Toyota did 2500 cash back and BOA has 2.65% interest right now, as well.

What an amazing time in the history of automobiles. I used to worry I’d missed most of the muscle car era and that was probably never going to happen again. Wrong.

I’d be thrilled to own one of these, but even living in the desert I’d “never use all that power”. At least it doesn’t have that goofy dial shifter.

Awesome. What a time to be alive. I just configured one on the website, I'd just add the Level 1 package, 2 tone paint and leave it at that. $75k. I don't really think it's ugly except for the graphics and those are optional. RAM has the best interior in the truck game by a wide margin.

As cool as it is, I'd never spend that kind of money on a half ton truck. I guess I have a more utilitarian view of trucks, would rather spend on something else. I wonder how much it'll feel the extra weight, I'm sure some magazine will do a shootout and let us know.

I like the grille and headlights on the RAM better, but that hood is a bit much. Thankfully, deciding between a Raptor and a Ram TRX will never be a problem I have to solve.

Wow, they’ve managed to over-style that more than the Japanese ever did!

The best thing about your Raptor, she is not a pavement princess. Up where you live, I get it. I'd love to have one up that way, lots of opportunity to use it and have some fun. In southeastern MA, the only purpose it would serve me is collecting performance awards.

In my biased opinion, they are great trucks. Fuel mileage isn't great, but you are driving a truck and I'll give up 2mpg and not question reliability. I've had mine for 3 years and has 68k and do the fluid film under it every fall, she is holding up great. Other complaint is no transmission dipstick but I think that is pretty common now. I'm going to start doing a dump and fill every other oil change to keep the trans fluid fresh.

Thanks. Agreed. Seeing 14mpg since I've just been driving around town. My ridgeline was getting 15-16 around town. Pretty crazy it has a 38 gallon fuel tank. Still on the first one. Just had Line-x and fluid film done last week. Probably will wait until later in the fall next year, but it was in there for the bedliner already. I'll have to read up on the transmission stuff, in a few years.

The EZ packs are fairly new. Couple bucks extra per quart. My cheap ass just uses a transfer pump.

I bought one of those big syringes for this purpose. Haven’t tried it yet though.
