You won’t get fairly ok gas mileage with the tundra. Great truck otherwise.

2020 Tundra, double cab (not massive crewmax) 6.5' bed.
For reference, hand calculated trip to and from NYST from CT, which is zero highway. All 50mph down to 30 in towns, maintaining 10 over, two motorcycles and gear in the back. 281 miles, 18.1 gallons, 15.5 mpg. Last fill-up took 32.8 gallons after 390 miles. 11.9 mpg. All around town, unloaded. Not sure if break-in is a thing with new vehicles, but I'm only at 2200 miles, so may improve a bit.

It has a 38 gallon tank, so range is good, but it sucks down the fuel. Remodeled tundra coming next year, likely hybrid and turbo versions to catch up. I don't commute, so I wanted something really reliable and nice to drive.

I saw my sister last week and she had her Ram Laramie Longhorn crew cab there. As far as nicer interiors, I'm not sure they make one, but that is obviously a subjective thing.

My '16 Tundra avgs around 16mpg, highway and town. I'm very gentle with it and soft on the go pedal. They are brutes, big thirsty brutes. The new ones will supposedly have a 450hp twin turbo v6.

The RAM 1500 also rides great because it has a 5-link SUV style rear suspension setup with coil springs. IMO this makes a huge difference in ride. The RAM 1500 was by far and away the nicest (empty) ride in '15 when I demo'ed the lot. I hear this only hurts payload realy.

It is very sharp for sure. I like the black, on other colors you can see a ton of black body accents that you dont notice on a black model. I believe with a tune they run high 12s!!!

Only downside is it looks like a cop car in your rearview!

Always thought that would be a positive until I talked to a buddy that has a black explorer that looks like a police vehicle. He says it is great on the highway because everyone pulls over for you but on regular old backroads it is terrible because everyone slows down and does the speed limit in front of you.

    Re: Let's talk trucks

Had a Gladiator for a rental a few weeks ago. I like it quite a bit. I like it to the point I’m thinking of trading the Ram in for a Gladiator diesel next year. The V6 gasser already drives very much like a diesel, the actual diesel has like 440 ft lbs.
