ouch ! my cheap ass Hercules Terra Tracs were all 4 mounted/balanced, $440 for 265/75R-16, on my 3rd year full time/35k+, they don't have the snow/ice traction of a Hakk, but do ok with 4wd

    Agreed.

I put a set of those on my Tundra earlier this year and they have been excellent for grip, road noise and compliance even though they are Load Range E.

Mileage is TBD but so far, with the frequent towing the truck does on all types of road surfaces, the Falkens have not broken traction in any of the operating conditions they've been subjected to. I think that's pretty impressive

For this particular application road noise is not a concern. I need traction and durability. Truck does less than 1000miles/yr highway.

I never heard of Hercules so I went on their site. Looks like they just released 2 new tires: the X-Journey and the X-Venture. Assuming they're priced similarly as the Terra Tracs , they seem to offer a lot of features for the price and they're 3PMS rated. Unfortunately, they don't have the X-Ventures in my size (265/60/18) as I really like the sidewall, but the X-Journey would still fit my 99.5% on-road usage and they're pretty light compared to other name-brands.

More on topic, I was pretty happy with my duratracs, great in the snow, 60k miles, and a hard life

I wouldn't know about em, my local mon & pop tire store sells them along with some of the more well known brands, Hercules is their low price brand, but a lot of locals run em, and they hold up well in our frost heave, pot hole ridden jungle

How loud and rough are those Micky's? I'm was down to General Grabbers x3's or Duratrac's for my next set on my Silverado. Loved the Duratrac's on my Tacoma but there expensive.

The Mickey's don't seems loud, but my duratracs any end of life were very loud, so it seems quieter compared to that.

The grabbers are nice, but not good for snow. Duratracs and these Baja Boss are still snow rated where the grabbers are a mud tire

I was thinking that about the Grabbers. My brother in law has them on his jeep and they look really good but he parks it in winter.

i've been impressed with the year round performance of the Grabber X3's (37x12.5-17) i have on the Jeep. not a snow-rated tire as rocket points out, and the siping is minimal, but they've actually been pretty good. wearing well and road noise is minimal.

    Re: Let's talk trucks

Put the new mickeys to the test last night, drag race your neighbor at the fair.

double elimination, got my first loss to a subaru STI who jumped the start and didnt get called on it. Got my second loss (to the eventual winner) when I got called for jumping.

It was all done by eyeball.

Fastest vehicle there possibly. Just need to tighten the nut behind the wheel
