There are a number of similar reports on the Kioti group on FaceBook. A lot of them blow off the dealer and have it welded commercially.

    Re: Tractors - Educate me

Anyone have any leads on mini excavators?

I missed out on "the one" last week because I was working. It was perfect....8000lbs, cab, full HVAC, hydro thumb and it sold the day before I called about it.

Also, has anyone ever heard of (or dealt with) Mahoney Equipment in Sutton, MA?

    Not interested in leasing.

The budget is somewhat fluid in the sense that I'd rather find the right machine however the goal is to be 30 or less.

    Re: Tractors - Educate me

Still waiting on my backhoe and grapple. In the interim, I've been learning how to use the Ratchet Rake and I've been surprised at what I've been able to pull out of the ground with it! It's absolutely worth the money.

I've also decided that I'm in the market for an equipment hauling trailer. Trying to find something that is at least 16', has 8,000lbs payload, and weighs under 3,000lbs.

    Re: Tractors - Educate me

Your guy is completely wiped out. At present I do not think they have a single open station machine in stock.
Actually all Kioti dealers are wiped out. Some Kubota dealers are too. From what I've seen it is a damned good summer to be in the business of selling tractors.

I had a similar thought about trailers for a few minutes recently. I was pretty impressed with some of the stuff I saw on the website at REP Enterprises in Greenland. Unfortunately I think this is a seasonal game and they have sold most of their inventory off to make space for plows and sanders.
They had some really nice looking all aluminum trailers that weren't as bad as I was expecting price wise. Given I was looking for something smaller; in the 10-12' range. I was trying to figure out how to pull off carrying ~2500 lbs of machine on a single axle trailer. I've decided it is possible, but only barely with no comfort margin.

Any tips for using that rake? I read many pages back where Bergs advised to never forward drag with the bucket curl cylinders fully extended.

    Re: Tractors - Educate me

Used car haulers pop up on Craigslist all the time for $1500 to $2000. That will carry the 2500 pounds no problem but still be on the lighter side. Might be worth considering over a single axle if open decks are what you're looking for

On the other hand, a real deck over with 5k+ axles seems pretty rare on CL unless it's pretty beat. That one is probably a better buy new. There a trailer for 5k on there now but it looks rough for the price in my mind.

I've had my best results when dragging backwards. I push the downward facing tines into the dirt just past the rock and use the loader to just barely lift the front wheels off the ground. I pull backwards until I spin and slowly raise the loader hoping some of the teeth get a grip. I'll reposition and try different angles with the bucket until it grabs and eventually I can roll the rock out of the ground. You can see from the scratch marks on the rock that it took some coaxing to get it out of the ground.

I measured the rock and it has a volume of about 13ft≥ which puts its weight around 2275lbs.

We use the forks to pop out rocks, usually.

Was surprised to learn that many tractor owners didn’t know about the “float” function. Essential for snow plowing and useful for many other tasks.
