Let’s all not forget about the continuous maintenance costs for a tractor at every 10, 50 and 100 hours of operations.

If you do your scheduled oils, filters and greasing as prescribed it is considerable.

I got a Ryobi, cause that is what I already have batteries & chargers for, I didn't find greasing that much faster, as cleaner, it clamps down tightly on the zerks, and your just pulling the trigger, not doing a 3 handed maneuver, where the 3rd hand is your belly, getting grease everywhere. instead, just snap the hose on to the zerk and pull the trigger, reloading a cartridge is a clean operation as well.

I resisted getting one of those lock-n-lube tips for a while as they are pretty pricey. I shouldn't have. Well worth it and far more affordable for a home-gamer like me compared to a better grease gun. Locks onto every zerk on the machine without having to adjust to different sizes and does not let go. With that greasing is 2 handed.

If I were a pro or had multiple machines or something I'd want a battery.

The tip is more handy though, almost must-have. I always hated adjusting the standard tips. Never quite the right amount of tension.

Kioti makes their zerks out of butter by the way. Look at them funny and they break. And they are a weird BSP thread size.

That is a deal. I just looked and the current sale price is like $140. I believe all the top brand ones are like $180-200 for the bare tool!

I bought a LockNLube coupler last year and that should be on everyone’s short list. It makes everything faster and easier independent of an electric/pneumatic gun. The 50+ Zerks on my tractor, loader, and backhoe were a major pain in the ass without it.

every once in a while, you see in store only deals, I picked up 4, 4amp/hr batteries & 2 of their nice chargers for $160 (they were 2 bats & charger /$80 so I bought 2) the reg deal is you get 2amp/hr batteries for that price

What's the longer term look like for you and this property?
Do you want to push back wooded areas that you may want to open up, or carve an area out for a fire pit or move stone for a walkway, etc...

If yes then, tractor. If no then, dedicated machinery

Can't speak for the maintenance issues that folks have mentioned but I find my machine to be mostly hassle-free. Pretty much push a tube of grease through it every week during the work season, engine oil is every couple hundred hours, HST fluid is every few hundred hours.

    Karma is very real .

Helped out a single elderly gentleman this past summer with a little tractor work.

The job was so small I could not in good conscious charge him for it, since I knew he was a Veteran and on a limited income .

Well 6 months later I get a call from him that he would like me to stop by because he has something for me .

Here it is , and what a gift it is ,he heard I liked motorcycles.
